Ok, ive got a story which when i was told made my hairs spike on my neck.

A good 5 years back this is. One of my close friends was asked to babysit a boy while the parents went around the corner for a drink as they never go out.

It was about 10pm, admittedly they asked her to put him to bed at 8, but she used it to get on the little ones good side. Anyway after about 10 minutes he came downstairs and said he cant sleep because a clowns making a funny noise. She thought he was trying to stay up abit longer. But she walked him back upstairs and left the landing light on.

5 minutes passed and apparently he came down again teary saying that its laughing at him and he cant sleep. So she goes up stairs and roots through his toybox asking him what toy made the noise, just incase another toy was pressing on it setting it off. By this time my friend was saying she was freaking out abit. Anyway she went downstairs again and actually rang the parents.. Which said hes making it up. Always said theres noises but nothing actually there.

While on the phone he screams she flies upstairs and the boy was saying; "the clown tried holding me, but i wasnt asleep i swear it". At this time, shes freaking out and telling them to come home. They are about 15 mins off, and because she sounded so upset they told her to go next door and see if they can sit with them, as their are close friends. (Bare in mind 5 years ago'ish my friend would have been 17).

Anyway long story short they get in the neighbours living room and the fella is looking at the house and notices something moving. Apparently there was a 40 year old man with a clowns mask and chef trousers scuttering down the drainpipe.

To this day thinking of this story freaks the hell out of me.

I'm not quite sure about this "story" as I myself have also heard this story and sounds more like to be an urban myth - http://urbanlegends.about.com/od/horrors/a/clown_statue.htm still rather disturbing if you ask me.

Great Thread though, had me glued to it for hours! ;)

I work in an old bank which is said to be haunted by the banker and his family. Occasionally I would be there alone late but feel secure as there is modern lighting and a lot of open doors.
Generally when you know the building well you learn the sounds and can feel if something is different.
We have a metallic stair rail and one night it was in the office and heard a distinct scrapin noise of when someone has a ring on and walks down the stairs with their hand on the rail. Quickly checked the CCTV monitor and there was no one there so spent the next two mins waiting for someone/something to come through the door.

I was a bit creeped out at the time but now find it humourous my mind played the trick on me.

Get a fair amount of mileage telling the new employees about the supposed ghosts for my own sadistic pleasure. One night late we were discussing late in the office, maybe 4 of us. I was telling the stair story and I looked over the shoulder of one of my colleagues to explain how I was checking the CCTV. One of the cameras was panning backwards and forwards on its own and stoped the second everyone put their attention it. it made me a little curious but still not outright scared.

Never once got the impression there was anything malevolent but does make me curious whether there are small instances of things or it's merely coincidence when your brain puts multiple sensations together.

Bizarrely I like a huge girls blouse when watching scary movies :D

Worth bearing in mind...

Had a few things happen...one of which (not the usual ghost stories) I was about to go out and felt something brush across my neck on the side so I brushed my hand across my neck and at that moment looked down to see a spider about 6/7 inches long fall to the ground and crawl of!

Not overly scary by any means but it creeped me out,

I started playing the TLoU DLC on Friday, and just after it started I heard the sound of a door behind me (wasn't wearing headphones, and our living room is a long open plan one with a door to the kitchen at the other end) being closed very quietly and pushed to, I thought it was my GF coming downstairs to go in the kitchen to get a drink, but nope, no-one there and the door was still wide open.

Who unsuspended you? Get back in your cage boy!

GD is his cage.

False Widow? Might want to start a new thread and post pictures so we can get everyone's queen dad to hunt the wasp :p

Girlfriend trying to freak you out?

I am a rational person and I apply cold, hard logic when I try to understand something. This leads to skepticism so I never stop questioning things, including my own senses when they provide unusual 'reports'.

Curiously, nothing truely freaky/creepy ever happens to me because I quickly find a rational, boring explanation whenever I experience something that diverges from the mundane.

Neither of mine were paranormal, but at the time they were scary.

1. I had a fever as a kid, and I hallucinated. It was so realistic and frankly scary. I was in bed and giant spiders were coming down all around me onto my sheets, and then they uh... chased Indiana Jones towards my face and started biting me.

2. I used to hear voices as a kid, especially when I was alone. It sounded like they were far away, but over time they were getting closer and closer. I am not sure of the precise timespan, but I feel like it was years. I could also visualise them, they were like dark and sinister apparitions marching in a line, wearing cowls.

Turns out I had some fluid trapped in my ear, and when it was quiet I could hear the water moving around...the second part was obviously just a construct of my imagination.

The creepiest thing.... a forum member recognising me from my old rogues gallery picture at a meet (given the picture it was weird :p).

Seriously though, when I was in my mid teens I went upstairs to my bedroom in the middle of the afternoon on a lovely sunny day. As I opened the door a hand appeared in front of my face, scared my silly. I immediately turned and ran back down the stairs and called out to my Dad. We assumed someone had got in the house so we went back upstairs. Checked every room, there was nobody there. Mind you some other weird stuff had happened in that house to my sister and to my Dad. Though strangely enough I don't believe in those things (ghosts/paranormal etc).
