What is the creepiest thing to have ever happened to you?

I was watching the exorcist with a gf years ago. She had an electric key meter. Just as the priest takes possession of the demon and jumps out the window down the steps....the power went out in the house. She ran outside into the street hysterical..while I had to find the meter and replug the key.:D

That gives me an idea :D

Holy thread revival Batman...

But revived for a reason. My brother just had a very unusual experience. Tomorrow is the third anniversary of our mothers death of cancer in hospital. I was talking to him earlier today and we were reminiscing over her last few days. He sent me a picture of my car parked in the hospital car park this exact day those three years ago, 14th November 2019. That night the nurses kindly put two large comfy reclining chairs next to her bed and we slept through the night with her, expecting the end to be any time. The next morning she passed away with us both there. Later that day I gave him the hospital car park ticket which had been in my car window. I had paid a week for in advance as I didn't live locally and didn't know how long I would be there. I gave him the ticket so that he could come back and pick up the death certificate.

My brother just called me saying he dropped his wallet at work this evening. When he picked it up a bit of paper fell out. It was that exact same parking ticket dated 14th November 2019 which he didn't even realise was still in his wallet and doesn't recall it being there. Presumably he had kept it tucked away for sentimental reasons all those years ago. That parking ticket is exactly three years old today, bought for the car in the photo he sent me this morning and from that final night with our mum.

Very odd indeed.

Makes you wonder if someone's trying to send a message :)

Sat on the sofa and noticed something in the corner of my eye on the top of the sofa right next to me....giant house spider, pooed my pants and left her to the living room...

If that counts.

A few months ago I found one on my bed pillow. My wife was already in bed asleep. I came upstairs and was just about to lay down and found this massive spider on the pillow inches from her head. Huge hairy thing**

I quietly removed it but missed an opportunity to take a pic of it with both the spider and my wife in the frame and send it to her to discover in the morning. Dammit.

**The spider, not my wife

Reminds me of something that happened to me a few years back.

I woke up one morning as as I opened my eye found myself in a staring match with a giant house spider on the pillow about 10cm from my face. The thing must have been about the size of the palm of my hand. I don't think I've ever jumped out of bed so quickly.

I don't mind them in the house and don't care if they are running around on the floor in a evening but I draw the line at them in my bed.

Just finished reading the whole thread over the past few days, which I found fascinating and, at times, very creepy.

One trend that strikes me about the experiences described is that many of them occured when the person or people involved are likely to be in an understandably heightened state of anxiousness, such as having recently suffered a bereavement or having just moved into a new home etc. These situations are out of the ordinary and stressful, and this is on top of the usual stresses of modern life.

Humans have evolved for over 1 million years to survive dangerous situations and physical threats, but modern life is usually so ordered and mundane. You can't just switch off those instincts, they come out in different ways. When something stressful happens, I think that the mind searches for a threat, and if it doesn't categorically identify something definite, the mind makes something up to fill in the blanks.

There's so many reports, many of them with similarities. I don't doubt that people have seen something, but I don't think that what they've seen is real. It's just in their mind.

I'm 46 and have led a very active life, full of highs and lows. I've experienced coincidences but have never experienced anything which borders on being supernatural.

They don't exist, but please do keep posting stories!!!

Not the creepiest - but had an odd one couple of nights ago - I have a plug socket beside and slightly above my bed with bedside light and mobile phone charger plugged into it with the cords hanging down, the light cord has an inline switch for turning it on and off. Something woke me up and I reached for the bedside light switch only to find a 3rd cable!?! as I fumbled around for the switch I heard what sounded like a cable falling making a clang as it touched the leg of the table beside my bed... with the light on I looked around in confusion and there was absolutely nothing there - nothing had fallen down let alone a cable which wasn't supposed to be there...

Was 100% awake and not something I dreamt as I was half-asleep, etc.

I moved into a new house which had been empty for a few weeks, went to sleep on a camp bed with a pint of water next to the bed to drink in the night. I woke to have a drink to parch my snoring throat and as I drank felt something in my mouth.. Yes it was a massive house spider which I proceeded to spit out on the floor, I haven't told my partner as she's got arachnophobia.

This exactly happened to me, same as Hades' story, woke up with a large House Spider on the pillow! What surprises me is they are timid and run when there is movement. Whereas no idea how long it had sat on my pillow whilst sleeping?

I still remember the slow realisation that when my eyes focussed and slow dawning that I am face to face with a big hairy spider! Hell of a shock! :D

The spider was fine even after I had shot out of bed, went back in and turfed him out.

Thanks for the nightmares! Lol

Not the creepiest (the creepiest involves certain banned substances) but I was watching The Ring with my wife (American version) a few years back and there's a scene where they watch the cursed video on the TV and the phone rings. At the exact same time my father decides to phone me at around 11pm at night from Prague. ******* pratt... :D

Given all the Spider talk I thought i'd share my own "Creepy" experience.

I was on a teams call with my new line manager earlier this year, working from home & camera off, hot weather so sat at my desk shirtless.

I recline in my chair & immediately feel and hear a slap on my chest. Spider dropped off the light fitting, absolutely **** myself, yanked my headset off & ran out of the room whilst letting off multiple F bombs.
