What is the most beautiful car of all time?

:p

When the 456 GT first came out (can't believe it's almost 20 years ago) it was achingly beautiful. Can't help but think it looks a bit gawky now.

But I guess that's due it being surpassed by absolutely stunning looking cars like the DB9 (very purposeful) and the 8C (utterly beautiful).

Am also tempted to throw the McLaren F1 into the mix just because it looks so different, and a bit like Sophie Dahl, is ugly beautiful.

Porsche 356 has some really exquisite detailing that's started generation upon generation of subsequent Porsches.

With non supercars, the 350z is handsome car with some great detailing when you look up close. Nice proportions too.

Not sure how people can say the likes of the Miura are beautiful. They must be quite old because its like saying flares and platform shoes are fashionable. They were....40 years ago but not now.

Externally, maybe not THE most beautiful, but easily in my top 5; Spyker C8. It looks kinda funny from some angles, but I think true beauty always has some strangeness to it's proportions.

Internally, definitley. I love the way it's styled with an aeronautical theme. The steering wheel and wheels that look like propellor blades. The soft, padded interior and use of chromed metal throughout. The little switches on the centre console look like something out of a cockpit. It's like sitting in a vintage aircraft-car hybrid built for the 21st century. Really is saturated with style. Beautiful.

Shame that it took Subaru so many years to make a beautiful car, only to have it for a couple of years and move on to something uglier than a baboon :(

I'm not so sure about the RB320, don't really like that grille in the lower intake.

It seems many here dont understand the difference between things which look good and things which look beautiful.

Hint: A modified Impreza looks damn good. An Aston Martin V8 Vantage is beautiful.

That is a stock Impreza, and it looks better than any Aston could (to me). Infact, the only things to rival the Hawkeye STi would be be Ferrari 360, 430 and Lambo Gallardo.

Agreed. Imprezas? Golfs!?

But you miss the whole idea of what beauty is.

Personally I think a BMW M5 looks BETTER to ME than most of the cars in this thread. I prefer looking at one. I go WOW more. But it's NOT 'beautiful'. It is not a car of 'beauty' yet some of the cars in this thread, even the ones I personally dislike, are...

Imprezas are every 17 year old bloke's wet dream, not beauty nor taste.

I don't even have sympathy for the aggressive argument. A GT-R/Reventon look aggressive without the chav factor of an Evo.

Having said that I wouldn't mind one as they're no doubt extremely fun to drive.

How else do you judge beauty other than what YOU personally consider beautiful?
