What is wrong with milk these days? It's not milk

Indeed. Someone said to me recently, thinking they were being funny, "I wonder who the first person was who squeezed a cow's udder and thought, 'I'm going to drink this'"? Well, that's the whole reason cows exist. Imagine creating a species just so you can use its resources [and kill it]. Kind of impressive.

Its not a universal custom in the far east they have no tradition of dairy farming give a japanese person a glass of milk and they'll look at it as something gross. They're almost entirely lactose intolerant as well westerners have actually evolved to be able to digest it into adulthood.

All those complaining about the taste of milk should switch to dog milk.

There’s Nothing wrong with dog milk. Full of goodness, full of vitamins, full of marrowbone jelly. Lasts longer than any other type of milk, dog's milk.
Tried dogs milk once, made me feel ruff, ruff!

You must be barking mad

It's not milk, that's what is wrong with it.

Gotta get it from a farm shop or delivered by Milk & More or similar. Lovely tasting proper milk in a glass bottle, it's worth every penny.

I've pretty much given up on milk, black coffee does me now and I don't bother with cereals. We did try a few different milk delivery services but they all turned out to be unreliable in the end. My family still drink the supermarket stuff. When you think about it milk's pretty gross really.
I think I'm going off animal products in general really.

A good few years ago, we used to get cream from a farmer friend at Christmas. He only gave it to his friends and he only did it at Christmas. I can't remember if it was unpasteurised or non-homogenised but it was absolutely fantastic. We stopped getting it when he sold his dairy herd.

Ive not had cow's milk fo years but the wife buys this stuff (gold top) and I do believe it's meant to be the best probably thanks to the cream. I also think they do another version where the cream hasn't been mixed into the milk but lies at the top. I think we have some in the fridge now I might give it a taste. I have coconut, hazelnut or almond milk usually sometimes oat and rice. I'm not a huge fan of dairy but cheese is my weakness as well as butter.

Ugh since I've become lactose intolerant I avoid dairy where I can but god cheese is amazing.

The lacto free stuff is OK but limited.

Asda has on their shelf the price sticker for lactose Stilton, but it's never there only ever the mozzarella.

I check regularly but I think it's discontinued.

Gold top and lurpack and a day on the toilet is worth it

Not a huge fan of the vegan cheeses at all. Not tried the lacto free stuff.

Everyone is lactose intolerant to a degree. It's just some people can tolerate more than others. Like even the person who reckons they have the best tolerance to lactose will hit a bump if they just had dairy all day long.

I'm fine with butter and I can tolerate dairy in one meal per day. If I had 2 or more meals where it's mainly dairy then I'll get issues so I've just replaced dairy where it's easiest (milk) and I just restrict cheese to no more than one meal per day and I'm usually fine.

That means if I'm having pizza for dinner then I can't have any cheese at breakfast or lunch. The one that really sets me off no matter what though is paneer. Halloumi the same thing made from goats milk doesn't though. Apparently goats milk is better for us. Maybe something you can look into and experiment with. I personally hate goats cheese (apart from halloumi) but you may like the milk.

Ahh I have experimented a lot, only really started to get me badly 2 year ago. Took a while to figure out what it was had quite a bit of dramatic weight loss as dairy was such a big part of diet at the time

Cheese over 13 months like parmesan isn't as bad as the lactose changes to the crystals.

Blue cheese is slightly better.

And bulk powders (I think they just called bulk thesedays) 5000 fc tablets work good if you take a few spread out before and after.

But yeah nothing holds up to something like eating a whole burrata to yourself (it's a ball of mozzarella bit inside filled with thick cream and mozzarella strips, what the cheese makers kept for themselves from the scraps at the end of the day its amazing)

I wonder if it's the acidic paneer for you? As google says that's the main difference between it and hallumi

Lucky for me I have a few farms nearby that sell raw milk. I don't rate the milkshakes from the machines they sell very highly.
