What is your VID Rating - Q6600 Post here!!!!

I think that it puts more of a strain on the NB, and apparently its a lot more fiddly to clock on the 8x multi.:)

Naa, Intel say the chip can run at 100c for 10years.
My rig is totally stable & has been for over a year.
Anyone else have a b3 here?

It wasn't so much me worrying about your temps, more that your cooling seems to be underperforming some what. 95c load with water seems just too high even for your clock/voltage.

Vid rating = 1.2625v according to coretemp.

Clocks to 3133Mhz on stock voltage, but needs a little boost to go beyond that. It's currently running at 3.5Gig using 1.425v in the BIOS which is about 1.4v with vdroop.

1.3125v running at 3.4Ghz.(425*8) - not sure if thats max overclock though. will try 400*9 in a min.

1.4v or 1.39v in bios and 1.344v in windows

VID = 1.2625V
In BIOS it's set to 1.2625V
Voltage dampener on and speedstep crap disabled

currently running at 3.2Ghz (8*400)

Have only run prime with it for an hour so far, I should run it overnight to make sure it's perfectly stable at that speed/voltage.

As I type : Q6600 3.4 (seems stable) VID = 1.3250, Core Voltage = 1.552 V :(

I must admit I haven't set the voltage to manual, left on auto, simply because to have the confidence to do so I'd need one of my more technically literate friends to come round and show me. If I press the wrong button I could nuke the planet! :D

So many people are useing 8x multiplyer and makeing it ''look'' like the CPU is faster??

what is the same speed when a cpu is at 345x9 compaired to XXXx9

I cant get anythin faster from my cpu at 3.096ghz at 1.47volts.

But i can when i go 8x multiplyer. What should i be doin?

Cheers

Hoper santa was good to you all! :)
