What "man jobs" have you done today?

Tried a paint stripping chemical like Nitromors? Might make the job a bit easier.

I tried some paint stripper I had, which has worked well in the past, there are so many layers of paint on this door (and the frames) that it barely made an impact.

I've gone around the house and there's only one door that really needs replacing, the rest I will get dipped. As for the framework, I might use some Nitromors at the base where I daren't put the heat gun.

Thanks for the tips.

That must be horrific to watch without slumping in your seat?

The TV should be at eye level when seated, that look eye level when your stood up!

I am very slumped on the couch after a hard day at work, don't worry about that :D
It's not that bad to be fair (for us anyway) My brother in law has his at that height and we kinda liked it. :)

My misses likes cushions.

I am 6ft 1in :D:)

Internet is working fine. That is unless you want to use 5GHz wireless, then your fresh out of luck as it's disabled hence the amber light :p

Screwfix no nonsense paint stripper is just as good as nitromors and less than half the price!

Of our 17 rooms, about 14 still have some sort of wallpaper in them - be it ceiling or walls (or both!). I personally don't have an issue with wallpaper, assuming its not a ghastly design or super cheap low quality stuff.

17 rooms? what kind of mansion do you live in?

our in laws 5 bed place only had 11 rooms including an ensuite, downstairs toilet and office.

wallpaper is a pain. hate the stuff. went through 5 layers in our bedroom.

210 year old place in countryside. Was 14 originally, 4 beds, we expanded it slightly.

2 lounges, 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, attic conversion, dining room, kitchen, 2 studies etc etc

Decided the old doors aren't worth the hassle of dipping, so hand-sanded a couple down this evening ready for painting tomorrow. Then painted an mdf bath panel with Sandex masonry paint in the hope of making it a bit more water resistant.

Cleared the dining room table, now this dont sound much but I only moved in 5 weeks ago and it was the dumping ground for everything.

A few years ago my outside tap pipework froze up in garage next to boiler so boxed it in. The two panels on front are held on with screw in each corner so getting them off was 10 min job-

The whole of boxing can be removed in about 20min as everything is screwed together.

I needed somewhere to store my new pressure washer so today I cut edge off one side of panel and fitted a few hinges and now I have opening panels.

Good job done.:)

I've been doing a house up as my first buy to let. The house is a two bed terraced with a small back yard. The bathroom which is downstairs had bad damp which was caused by decking or was a contributing factor. The decking was above the floor level of the house! Today I ripped up the decking.

Its been a busy day in the house, the plasterer is borarding and skimming all the rooms and I have a joiner in doing the putting in a new kitchen.
