What "man jobs" have you done today?

Well had a busy weekend, mowed the lawn, took down a tall leylandi tree, was about 40-50ft, cleared it all of the lawn and burnt a lot of smaller brances, bigger ones cut up fo people to take.

Still to do, 2 more leylandi trees to come down, same height as first, need to level lawn in places and reseed, need to aerate it all as i've got a big moss prob after winter, rake the entire lawn to get out the thatch and leaves, finish patio off, 2 flags to go but can't find grinder! And most important one, get the bbq out and clean it and brickwork it sits in ready for some use.

Will get some pics up after of back so you can see tree sizes and size of lawn!!

Grass cut, edges done with strimmer. Raked up and generally tidied up a great deal in preparation for the coming summer months. Got big plans for the garden this year now our little boy is 2 and a bit more able to run around in it and enjoy himself compared to last year. Got a bit of 'childproofing' to do to it this year. :)

So brownie points for me when the missus gets home from work. I think I'll relax now with a little bit of Arma 3. :D

Well here's some pics of what i've done, grass is looking bare in places so need to fix that but also level it up in places.

Glossing the woodwork in what will be my daughter's new bedroom.

The previous owners, over a period of 20 years stripped all the paint from the doors, picture rails, dado rails, skirting and panelling in the hall. I intend to get it all painted again before the end of the year.

Also, Dulux One Coat Gloss; what a load of clap trap. Needs at least two coats and that first one too four days to be touch dry in a warm well ventilated room.

Never been one for it, I'm old school, prefer primer/undercoat, & then two coats of gloss.
One disadvantage with solvent undercoat & gloss you need to leave them each 24 hours before recoating.

Have just added PVC strengthening strips to all the polycarbonate panels in my greenhouse as I found out they are great until it's windy! Problem with them is they bend far to easily along the width of the panel where there are no clips as this one was designed for glass.

The strips seem to have done the job and also cover ends where there was a bit of algae forming, so it looks a lot neater now.

Changed the door seal in my washing machine, fumbled my way through it in about fifty minutes disconnect to reconnect.
Figure someone competent could do it in fifteen, heh.
Anyway new experience, happy enough I was able to sort it myself.

Shame the wife shut the door on a zipper to begin with, growl.

Broke the handles on a spade & two shovels, yesterday digging the garden.
Considering they are all 12+ years old, had a hard life,& all original handles,it doesn't surprise me, but they were quality 'Bulldog' brand, had it been a cheaper make, probably replaced handle several times over by now.

Spent the afternoon today removing old handles & fitting new ones.

Macca: Now I do like that, can you tell me from where you got it from please.

It was £10

I was going to get two but they were out of stock we have ended up just chucking everything on the antlers including watches and rings so works well.

My house is full of guns, Barbour jackets, Hunters and pictures of 'Hunts' and Pheasants so fits in quite well.

All I need is a Labrador but I'm allergic to dogs :(
