What "man jobs" have you done today?

Mini shopping trip to Toolstation this morning:

While the carpets are up I'm lagging all of the central heating pipes underneath the suspended wooden floor, then sealing up all of the gaps around the edges of the floor (under the skirting boards) to kill the draughts.

Some ply going down to level out a very uneven hallway which is half suspended timber / half concrete slab due to an extension.

Also running some structured networking while I can. Nothing too fancy, just a 4 port faceplate near my router with cables running to some single faceplates. One near the TV in the front room (you never know), one to an under stairs cupboard where I've always wanted to house a server. That also gives me an upgrade route as I could put a switch under there too if I ever need it. Also running one cable up to each bedroom via the same cupboard. My lad is 7 so it won't be too many years before he wants his own PC so might as well put things in place now while I can.

And finally getting rid of the Virgin Media cable that they snaked all around the house under the carpets! That'll be running under the floor too, out of the way.

Oh, and putting a few extra mains socket outlets in too.

That should keep me busy for a bit :D

I washed both my cars and the missus' little puddle jumper. Hadn't been done for weeks, both were absolutely minging. Took ages. Now relaxing with a large glass of red on the couch watching the Masters. Lovely jubly. :)

Just fitted a new wooden blind and painted the sill white. Had to cut 5mm off each side of all the slats with my Dremel, which took forever.

Cut the back garden grass yesterday and just spent last 4 hours today jet washing my decking, after a long hard winter it definitely needed it!

Just having a well earned rest, if I can gain the motivation will go wash the car but back is in bits after bending over jet washing!

I know the feeling, my back gives me hell, solved the problem with my Nilfisk washer, by buying a lance extension, cost £12, & the extra 500mm make such a difference.:p

Really taken it out of me! 27 and knackered! lol.

Going to go make a brew and see if I can persuade myself to go wash the car!

Went to change bathroom light. Found the previous people had used the light fitting as a makeshift junction box. Removed all wiring and fed it back into the loft.

Grabbed a junction box. Cursed the size of said junction box as I tried to get 5 cables running into it. Eventually managed it. Finally fitted new bathroom light.

Now drinking tea.
