What "man jobs" have you done today?

Whilst it's been dry I've been out and trimmed the fur trees at the back of the house, 14ft tall and 25ft wide! Trimmed both side and took the top off to stop them getting any taller!

I've also been drilling holes the the concrete path out the front of the house as its been layer wrong and water sits in there for days :(

Your mosaic tiles have slipped!! Quick, bump them 2 rows up :p

Ha yeah, i took that photo whilst waiting for the adhesive to dry a bit, the adhesive was a bit too runny for the mosiacs to stay. In the end I used loads of tile spacers to keep them in position.

Love a bit of grouting. Also sealed the whole lot with the marble sealer. Should stop grout getting dirty. ( grout still damp in mosaics)

Removed the snakes wedding behind my gf's tv stand. Everything is now nice and neat so it conforms with my OCD. Set up her new Sky Hub thingy and ran some cat5e to the TV and Sky box for her.

Simon, with the sink position and surround, how do you stop spilled water from ingression underneath into the airspace between sink and tile, is there some form of seal on the underside of the sink?

My temper cost me £25. I own the ground floor flat but now the upstairs flat has been sold and is rented out. Was so angry this morning at the tenants who live above (bloody 2 year old constantly at home who never stops stamping around and there's very little soundproofing above) that I slammed the main front door very hard 3 times which broke the lock. The latch got stuck in the casing and the knob is loose, won't turn. So I went to B&Q and replaced this

with this

Fortunately just a straight swap over with no new screw holes needed although the door needs pushing a bit harder to get it to click. I can't get the metal bit off the door frame that the latch mates to, the screw threads are flattened out so I can't use the new one or make any adjustments. Also the new casing, though it fits, has a lip that the old one doesn't, making the screws slightly angled, but they did screw all the way in without much issue. Still, it's in securely now and seems to work fine.

Put a coat of preservative on my shed while it was sunny and discovered the work bench I made in the summer was covered in green fluffy mould .

I guess tomorrows job will be fitting some vents as it must be due to a lack of airflow. If anyone can tell me where to place the vents for the best airflow in a 10'x8' apex shed that would be great. Thinking one in the bottom at the front and one at the top at the back, but not sure.

Above the door and at the rear of a similar level - not an overclocked PC so just having some kind of through flow should be enough.

Thanks, will give it a try. I think i'm going to go for smaller 60mm round vents as they look neater. So might need a couple each end.

The eaves had slight gaps where the T&G boards joined the walls, so maybe I shouldn't have foamed these up. But at the time I was under the impression that the T&G wall boards would be letting in lots of air as they are not exactly airtight.

Installed loft insulation in the two rooms I can actually get above, people moan that it's a horrible job but I quite enjoyed it! Hopefully it'll make a decent different to the bedroom temps.

It's only 100mm stuff, probably should've gotten thicker, oh well can always cross-lay another 100-150mm sometime.
