What "man jobs" have you done today?

How many RF sockets are you running in the house.
If more than 8 I would be inclined to add another aerial outside or inside and split the distribution between 2 - 6/8 way amps.
This is just the way I would go.
I only need 2, maybe 3 live - but I'll need to cut the cable for the ground floor to go into the connector for whichever alcove I want live.

Upstairs I'll need it permanently split 2 ways I reckon.

I thought I’d managed to jump into a thread from 2003 which so much aerial talk :D do you seriously need the aerial though? Our house has coax wired to every room but has never been wired up in the loft. We have a satellite wired into the living room tv, purely because it was already there but never really even use that.

You're right tbh, it's just I don't like to be totally reliant on internet. And because I'm running cat6 regardless, and I'll be using euro modules, I'll have a spare slot to fill and for the cost of 50 quid every alcove can be wired.

That looks similar or better than mine :)

Haven't used them yet though - arrived last week and I've not been to the house yet! We have mostly grey block not brick, so should be a piece of cake.
Thanks! Unfortunately it's missing the guide and the guide bars but I'm sure I can make something up.

Two little jobs today ....

Is there no insulation in your loft?
Yes - can you not see all of the old rugs and off cuts of blankets and fibreglass?

Tbh this is the second time I've been in the loft as couldn't see hand in front of you with the old lights.

I've measured up for loft insulation and boarding, though. Will try and get a patch done so that the boiler man isn't working in filfth.

Have you cut the earth?
The earth wasn't wired up.

I unblocked the bath drain, which was unpleasant to say the least, but the wet/dry vac took care of it in no time.

I also measured up the loft hatch because I want to replace the old timber hatch in preparation for getting a dropdown ladder (required as our boiler is in the loft). It will also be good to get something with insulation.

The current hatch opening is a bit of an odd size, but I think i've found one which will fit and cover everything up to where the plasterboard starts around the opening, so I won't have to repair the ceiling.

Let me know how you get on...I'm thinking of swapping mine to something larger (and not in the bathroom).
