What "man jobs" have you done today?

Found all the heat dissapearing through the bifold doors. I know they leak already but there were some small gaps around the frames too. I'm selling up so I just did a perfect bodge job with some decorators caulk (only thing I had) feels slightly less draughty now.

We have just bought a new bed, mattress and topper but with things never quite that simple the spare room bed needed to be unloaded (divan) and taken out the house. Our old bed dismantling (well partially) and moving into the spare room and then our new bed building and new mattress and topper installing .....

Before (sorry not sorry for the mess)

Emma looks a bit... thin?

Went to do a five minute job, check a thermostatic valve was working.

I forgot three things.
1: Never do anything plumbing related when the shops won't be open for at least another couple of hours.
2: Never do anything plumbing related no matter how simple if you're not feeling ok.
3: A five minute job never is.

Took the thermostatic head off the body, pushed the pin on the body down to ensure it was moving (a couple of ours tend to gum up a bit in the summer and a gentle push/pull frees them), and it started oozing water, I suspect the rubber washer had gone/got completely caked in place.

Cue a rush around as I tried to see if Screwfix was open (checked the site) and if homebase was likely to be open, then remembered we probably had a spare valve body in the garage, followed by about and hour of fiddling around getting it done.

How do you actually return it though, do you have to get it back in the box as I'd pay money to see someone try  .
It is quite a sad company tbh. Someone posted a while back a picture of their returns warehouse. The mattress (SIMBA, Emma, etc) are all dirt cheap to make hence the dirt cheap cost (relative to a John Ryan or something). He posted a picture of their returns warehouse, like floor to ceiling waste destined for the ocean.

Well, ive just spent the morning fighting thru shopping centre traffic to buy some guttering, fought my way back home again theu the horrendous traffic, got absolutely fully soaked thru to the bone replacing the guttters on the front of the house. Just come in doors and had a well deserved shower, and would you ******* believe the sodding sun has just come out.

OH Well no one that's kept theirs cares really

Probably returned by those who suddenly realised they could not afford it...

I went round my parents to help move some bits (they've just had a rewire) and, as the carpets are up and floorboards already taken up recently, I took the opportunity to install a wireless access point in the ceiling and run the ethernet into the airing cupboard and up into the loft where the switch is

No pics annoyingly but I added another 100mm to our second loft area on our second roof. At least there's standing room in that one. Absolutely miserable job also noticed an old wasps nest which will need sorting at some point (unless they don't reuse them?)

Also replaced a Honeywell motorised valve without electrocuting myself which is always a bonus. However the junction box is horrific - I think I'll pay someone to sort it out for me as although I could I really don't want to. 7 leads coming into it all for the various thermostats, pumps and heaters etc.... All unlabelled.
