What "man jobs" have you done today?

They are on small sheets 2-3 per slips per tile. However, It was almost impossible to join one to another so it was a case of removing them from the mesh and doing individuals.

board, cut to fit - cover with tiles then attach to wall. Makes it far easier :)

Done the splashback and kickups in my kitchen in those tiles, didnt have any problems when them going together, was it getting caught on the resin or something?

Started to cut down a birch tree, thing has gotten too big and is lifting up the block paving.

General garden tidy up, potted up some ornamental shrubs for the front door.

Filled garden recycling bin.

Purchased a self propelled petrol mower.

Need to buy a new shed next, prob from Tiger Sheds, so will be installing that in the next few weeks.

Hi guys, as opposed to showing off any of my labour this time round I'd much apprecaite a bit of advice.

I'm sanding down/re-glossing my stair rail and have removed the old carpet during this process so I can do a better job on the lot.

My question is, there are a whole ton of exposed carpet grippers as a result, it looks like a lot of work has gone into them and plan on keeping them there until I get the new carpet fitted as it will take less time and be cheaper.

Can anyone recommend a temporary solution as to how I can cover them in interim? I've come up with either wearing flip flops each time I use the stairs, or covering them in folded up old rags cut into lengths to cover them.

Don't worry - I've no children/pets to potentially harm, it's just me and a GF when she's over :p

Hmm apart from walking 2 miles, biking 2 miles (car service).. I pulled more blanket weed from the pond. Top water okish.. then you get to the freezing water..

Fitted a new toilet into the downstairs extension. It was a very old clay waste pipe coming through the floor which meant that the modern toilet was a good 4 inches away from the wall so I had to make a box to enable the cistern to mount to it.

You know - I feel like an absolute moron for not thinking of something so simple myself. Oh deary me....

Thanks Kimi, problem solved :p

I wouldn't feel to bad - There are practical people and Intellectual people. pick your group :):)

We have all been there at some time in our life.

Wood and trees and all that

My Mrs is also incapable of painting without getting it up to the handle of the brush. No idea how she manages it, you'd be hard pressed to tell it was a brush at all by the time she has finished.

Today's job - rodding a drain. It turned out to be full of those bloody awful purple slate chippings that the last occupier sprinkled everywhere.

Yesterday washed both cars & cut the lawn for the first time since moving into the home.

Turf took some beating over the winter so some work needs to be done, however not going to bother just yet as I will be doing a bit of landscape work with help from a mate.

Raised beds, patio(s), veg plot etc.
