What "man jobs" have you done today?

Levelled off the front garden after 2 years of it being mostly covered. Then condemned the house due to spiders

^ might just stick a bit of MDF up here as a ceiling with a GU10 holder in.

After the last few weekends spending it redecorating 2 rooms at the mother in laws. I've had a weekend at home doing some 'catch up' jobs

Sorted out a squeaking floorboard in my sons room that he liked to jump on whilst playing the xbox (seems to like jumping around whilst playing....dread to think what he'd be like with VR) and then install some new Unifi network kit in the loft to run POE to some access points to cut out some cables running around :)
Happy days!

Do I need this specific block to fit a kahrs engineered wood floor or would I be fine with any offcut of wood?

I didn't know if I needed this particular block for the "click' type mechanism

Kährs impact block 5 S - for optimal laying of wooden floors. https://amzn.eu/d/dby3Vpp
Not sure about that particular type, but I’ve always managed to fit click style flooring using an off cut of the same flooring, so that the groove is able to be used over the tongue in order to protect it. If you simply use an ordinary block of wood you’re likely to damage the tongue when you hit it against it.

Tidied my study: still very much a work in progress/dumping ground from all the work we had done over the summer, but I've got Toob coming out tomorrow to install "10% less than Gigabit Internet", as my autistic son insists on calling it.

I'll have the FTTP port put under the window, where all our Cat6 POE runs come in, so it's a simple 50cm cable to link up with the switch.

Looking forward to the increased bandwidth - 4 heavy gamers and a Wife who streams Grey's Anatomy 24/7 eats into the 150mb Sky Broadband a bit.

Edit/Update:

Disappointed it couldn't enter the house where I'd have liked, but under the lounge media unit was the second, safer choice.

Now begins the arduous task to reconfigure all the network gear/CCTV/gadgets, etc...

@RedMogg do what I did and spank a bunch of money on ubiquiti now :D

Fitted the split AC today. This is a propane variant so can be diy'ed. Works well, just trying to get humidity down from 80 to 50. It has WiFi but I've smart plugged it to track consumption, too. Ran out of single white sockets so found a use for a stainless one I've had knocking around for years.

Patches on wall are from touch ups (y).
