What "man jobs" have you done today?

AC isn't final fix yet - realised in its final location I must put the guttering on first else it'll get battered with water. So guttering first then I'll whack some blocks down to final fix it.

I don't think I will put guttering on the back of mine but I do need to clad it! I bought ecoscape cladding for the front (£1800 in cladding alone! :() but hopefully it looks nice. The steel cladding I was looking at for the back and sides is looking at circa £500

My Wife & girls are in Mallorca (using up an easyJet credit from a cancelled COVID trip, before it expires). I was sent this somewhat concerning self-portrait by my 7 year old:

...apparently, it's the hotel's giant red slide (the "Death Drop") she's terrified of riding and *not* a giant Anne Summers special.

Edit:
Man jobs today were stocking up the freezer with bargain Fillet (Mum ran out of room in her freezer  ), organising the snack tub ready for the girls' return on Weds, cooking a Beef Massaman, teaching my son how to use the Vax carpet washer (3 bedrooms, hall & stairs), changing our bedding over to the 13.5 tog Hungarian Goose Down and blitzing the place ready for the Royal Inspection...

Yeah you may be ok. I realised mine would kill the AC unit if I didn't have it.

And yeah the cladding is mental. I can see why people use fencing stuff to clad; even that isn't cheap tho. I guess we went big though so just by volume it's a lot of dollar.

Roofing sheets seem ok though, not as ugly as they could be and quick to go up...

Looking good.

Just enough left over to create a path to the Summer house.
Apparently for long thin gardens from a design perspective it's best to put a "winding" path. I wouldn't mind a cobbled one but to be honest I really cannot be arsed to do it. I'll store the spare in the back of the garden out of view and see if i use it over the next 10 years :D

Had itchy feed at midday, so went to Topps and got 2sqm of tile and all the gear.

This is a year after insulating it - so on track to usual timelines lol. I've got a board and a single GU10 to go in the roof. Also some old floorboards for shelves - can't wait to get the boots out of the hall!

Has anybody replaced a conventional doorbell (not digital) with a ring? Some YT videos simply replace the doorbell with the ring and connect the existing live and neutral. But I've seen others where they're modifying the existing chimebox and jumpering the switch live to make it always live so it can power the ring. This makes more sense to me. But I wonder why many videos including the official ring one don't instruct this? Strangely, Rings instruction page does instruct this jumpering?!

I'll do the jumper, as that makes sense to me..

I’ve done that, and had to jumper in the chimebox

Started the gym conversion for the bottom half of the workshop. Does anyone have recommendations for a smart diesel heater? I can see a bunch but looks like they're aimed for cars/vans?

Step 1 is to clear the wood offcuts. I can't bring myself to bin them yet so decided to knock up a mobile store out of 18mm osb and some cheap cls. Originally went 1.8m but chopped it down to 1.5m.

Weighs an absolute ton so may need a central wheel to stop it bowing but I've over engineered where I can...
