What "man jobs" have you done today?

Started the gym conversion for the bottom half of the workshop. Does anyone have recommendations for a smart diesel heater? I can see a bunch but looks like they're aimed for cars/vans?

---

Step 1 is to clear the wood offcuts. I can't bring myself to bin them yet so decided to knock up a mobile store out of 18mm osb and some cheap cls. Originally went 1.8m but chopped it down to 1.5m.

Weighs an absolute ton so may need a central wheel to stop it bowing but I've over engineered where I can...

With all the DIY you do I'm surprised you have time to hit the gym!

Not smart heaters as far as I know, but I do people who heat medium sized outdoor areas, such as sheds, with diesel heaters and they get to a respectable temperature (+21c) quite easily. I'm sure I saw that you can also attach a house radiator to the diesel heaters to get even more heat from them if you need to.

Make sure you get that done today chap...
What's the progress :D
The Mrs had other plans for me this morning, and it's now beaming with sunshine and too hot up there - however the head torch is on charge and the dust mask has had new filters fitted. I'm going up first thing tomorrow morning (after a suitably strong coffee and the mandatory post coffee toilet trip).

One shed all cleaned out ready for the many tools ive collected. Now i got space to put some of the items from the man cave before that comes down over the next few months and i build the bigger one ready for the new solar panels.

Hmm replaced my traditional doorbell with our gen 1 Ring, including wiring it into the existing doorbell transformer so that it can trickle charge. I jumped the connection on the existing mechanical chime to remove it from the circuit. The Ring is detecting the hardwired connection and has a steady white light. However it's not charging and is actually discharging seemingly more quickly than usual?! Any ideas?

Is your existing transformer powerful enough?

  • Ring battery doorbells require 8 to 24 VAC, 50/60Hz, 5VA to 40VA
