What "man jobs" have you done today?

Ran new CAT6 cable
fixed the lighting in the bedrooms
Moved the compost bin that we never used and emptied its contents into the garden waste bin
fixed a broken downlight in the bathroom
Permanently covered all of the holes in the eaves to stop the birds getting in

Utterly ruined - and it doesn't even sound like a lot!

Moved these in to the skip, excluding the asbestos.

Removed this rad and moved/changed valves providing an opportunity to use the new (to me) nail gun  O/H since decorated behind!

Check the current - needs to be able to deliver at least 625mA for 5VA (if it's 8V).

I opened up the doorbell transformer. It has 3 voltage configurations depending on how the the output wires are arranged. 4V, 8V or 12V. It was on 8V (which should have been fine) but I've rearranged it to 12V now. Will see if it makes a difference.

I made it up in to the loft to insulate, however didn't get round to much insulating - the amount of crap left over by electricians, telephone engineers and plumbers was unreal!
Lazy trades people are so annoying. Literally takes seconds to tidy up rather than just chucking everything to one side for someone else to do it!

If they just took a rubble sack with them and chucked it as they went along it'd be super simple for them - instead it's scattered across the whole loft space, which being a hipped roof bungalow involves a lot of crawling around for me - I'm not the most agile at my size as it is!

Been sorting out some boxes that I managed to get for free yesterday

Most of the trains are plastic kits but there is a Hornby BR, class47 Diesel loco in original box with price tab on for £12.75

Do I bin them ?

Ordered three new replacement carbon monoxide alarms: one for the kitchen, one for the attic where the combi is and one in the bedroom.

When we moved into this house, we had a 25year old original boiler. One day the alarm in the attic went off, didn't think much of the headache etc at the time.. It was condemned on the spot by British Gas who agreed not to cap it off if it was going to not be used and replaced. Needless to say the engineer showed me that the flue had corroded through and was vending carbon monoxide into the attic and house.

Carbon Monoxide takes a while to be released by your red blood cells, so took a while for the headaches etc to subside after the old heating system and boiler was ripped out and replaced.

This is why we now run three alarms (and those having two different makes). As they last only about 5-7 years, they're getting replaced.

That’s a tricky one, not sure what I’d do there, the green door puts you in a bit of a bind when it comes to adding a 3rd colour other than another perhaps light share of that green.

Yeah agreed... I'm tempted to just dribble some cardroom green into the white paint and see what "off white" colour I end up with...

The green that was on their before was picked up randomly from B&Q - a Valpsar mix someone didn't want. Annoyingly it was just a shade "too close" like it was trying to colour match the door:

It possibly looks a bit less worse, tho...

I like that more.
