What "man jobs" have you done today?

haha Yeah we watch a lot of sport and whilst cooking we have it on so on our feet. I think it's fine. I'm not joking I've never had anyone say it's too high! And I'm **** about that kinda thing and know of the subreddits of tv too high/too low lol.
The white table is extendable for when we have guests. The wooden surface is a large kitchen island with stools down the side you see.
We used to have the table turned 90 degrees but then some people had their backs to the TV so we switched it.

More importantly, white or black piano? ;)
Black piano

Wrapped some pipes that are under the landing flooring. Cut and fitted chipboard floorboard to cover those pipes(only temporarily as the wife has started her Xmas cleanup so no more dusty jobs allowed). 4x5M joists too be taken up into the loft to give a better floor. Now I can look more at the electronics side of things, network cables, the ITX computers to sort out(1 for storage, 1 for working), move the control for the Heat pump from the loft to the landing or kitchen/hall.

This stuff is horrible to use but once up and screwed to the wall/cable tied together, it is pretty hard to look past how good it is for the cost. £45 for both units there. Unfortunately my brain way-overestimated how much storage I'd end up with; so I've still got a tonne of junk to put away.

Going to raise left hand side so I can fit the mitre saw table, and then the mitre saw. Means the Fatmax screw boxes will need to lie flat but that's OK as one is just plumbing stuff used very infrequently (hopefully never again whilst I am here, lol).

I’ve got 5 in my garage, a 1.8m work bench with storage underneath and shelves above, yet I still need more….

Edit: nope, actually I have 6 but it’s full of kitchen and beer fridge overflow :p

Hah yeah this is +2 to the existing 5 bays on the other wall. Annoyingly if I get the house extended this ~2.4m of workshop needs to be chopped off, too

I think I've cracked my small noggin/offcuts storage issue though - if I convert the IKEA table I've rescued from every house move to a work bench, I can make some undercounter storage.

That's like one of those places you find that was built by someone different for each panel, roof section or door frames

Started to jet wash the decking now all the leaves have fallen.

Still thinking about cutting back the 7m tall African grass...

Had another push to bring order...

One bucket of misc crap that needs to be binned.

The bloody kallax lives to fight another day.... Annoying but it is useful for everyday cycling type gear. I'll probs relocate the wood store to right hand side now bike has gone.

I have similar racking but orientated them back to back and put storage containers that have wheels between them. The wheeled containers can be slid out of the way when access is needed easily enough, plus some storage bins on the walls. The arrangement takes up a bit of garage floor width, but seems to work well and you can double up on the shelves for larger items.

Haha that is a brilliant idea. I have those roller boxes (buggers changed spec halfway through so one with handle, one without). All the kiddies outdoor stuff gets bunged in them. That isn't a bad shout for how it could look if/when I do chop 2.4m off of the workshop actually... good inspo. Thank you

I am now "debating" condensation in there. I am thinking at the very least some airflow might help - so thinking a 2 or 3 fans on the ceiling just drawing air through. Not sure it'll make a bit of difference but it is quite damp in there atm.

A single fan basic house fan will make a material difference. Just angle it either up or down and it will get the air moving around the whole building. You don’t need it to be windy, you just need enough air movement.

I didn't realise that building was uninstalled at first TBH - it sounds like it is just a large shed at this point. So air exchange is critical because it's experiencing outside temperatures and outside humidity. I'd probably not be adding heat to a space like that because it will just increase the temperature difference between the air and the surfaces/objects.

(Until it's insulated I mean - by all means get it nicely insulated and start warming it up!)

The heating is to give it a blast before a workout rather than a proper long term jobbie. You're right tho, it's sacrilege not to rip the cladding off, OSB it, vapour barrier and fully insulate. It has planning restrictions only to be a garage but I think that's still cricket. I think I probably will do this actually....

You can't just insulate from inside?

I don't think so - it isn't totally water tight, and the breather membrane is the old wax paper type stuff with no airgap between it and the tanalised cladding. I figure if I insulate I'd lose a lot of internal space with a 50mm airgap (cold wall construction essentially?).

Probably just as easy to rip off the siding, OSB it, vapour barrier it, then counter batten and clad in something a bit more "modern" too.

Edit: plus I need to chop off about 2.4m for a future extension; so just as easy to re-clad it I think. I don't think it'll be all that much effort either, once the cladding is removed, I overboard in OSB and I am away.

Cut down 80% of the Giant African grass forest, which this year didn't quite manage the 7m height of last year. Just shy at 6.3m.
