What "man jobs" have you done today?

I never updated the thread with my kitchen redecorating so here it is.

Precision drilling...

Then I had to move some CAT6 cables externally to come in the wall lower down so I used external waterproof joiner thingies. Been working well.

Pulled inside.

Then the carnage of extending my internal sockets commenced. Despite best efforts, I was told off due to the dust.

Started marking out for the Samsung frame TV.

Then it was back to finishing the wall and starting the rest of the entire room. Went with Johnstone's Acrylic Durable Matt white paint as I wanted to use the same on ceiling and walls. I went down Brewers decorating centre and bought what I thought were high quality rollers but they ended up shedding all over the ceiling. Bit annoying. Not sure if I prepped them right and should have done the tape thing to get all the hairs off. Seemed poor quality. Anyway got it done in the end.

Took out 14 downlights and a smoke alarm and pushed the wiring back in the ceiling so I could roll it easier.

Masked and covered everything as best I could. Rolled the ceiling twice. (Yes the doors still need painting). Then did walls.

Finished room looks decent now. We've got the Samsung frame super low profile TV up. The TV that goes into realistic photo frame mode with the matt look screen so it looks like a painting. The box thing that all the leads go to with a tiny diddy cable I've stashed behind the piano. That piano has gone now off to uni with my son. We're debating whether to replace with a white one or black. What do you guys think? White would match the room and table, but the TV when off obviously is pretty black. Post on mums net for my first world problem? ;) Would prob get rid of the sound bar.

Started to order the materials for the new mega shed/greenhouse build……8mtrs x 3mtrs. Will be starting the build in february, but i got a good deal on the box metal roofing, so pushed the button.
Oh man I might just buy a new keyboard and bribe the mods ahead of time. Get ready Robin (@aVdub)!

(Best of luck sounds good!).

It's actually lowered from where the old one was! I compromised between low enough to see and the lights not be in the way vs a lot of sunlight tends to shine through that skylight window at certain times of day/year combinations washing the screen in sun. So it's up high enough where that doesn't happen as much. Also in the kitchen we are often on our feet and I'm a lanky bar steward. Does this pass justification test? :)

haha Yeah we watch a lot of sport and whilst cooking we have it on so on our feet. I think it's fine. I'm not joking I've never had anyone say it's too high! And I'm **** about that kinda thing and know of the subreddits of tv too high/too low lol.
The white table is extendable for when we have guests. The wooden surface is a large kitchen island with stools down the side you see.
We used to have the table turned 90 degrees but then some people had their backs to the TV so we switched it.

More importantly, white or black piano? ;)

Frees up side space. Ours is built in above the oven but it's a multi thing that does oven, grill, microwave. It basically looks live an oven.

After our recent Toob install - I bit the bullet and upgraded the router (Linksys Hydra Pro 6E), switches (8 port Yuanley 2.5Gb POE & 16 port Gigabit POE) and converted the Toob supplied router (Linksys Velop MX4200) to a child node for a very decent 6E mesh coverage.

I then spent *hours* worrying that one of my Reolink cameras had kicked the bucket (it's the only one not sheltered under the soffits), as it wouldn't reboot and initialise on the new network.

As it turns out, we needn't have worried. The burglars targeted our lottery-winner neighbour again. I don't think he was too upset, as the insurance upgrade seems pretty good:
