What "man jobs" have you done today?

If you have an old tree - and don't use the the wood for firewood - look for wood artists, or wood turners. Naturally the wood needs to be dried out but the cost to these hobbies of wood is now very high.

It's being chopped and added to the seasoning stacks...upto ~3 cords now. Should keep us toasty :D

I'll have to replace one of the footings that's sandwiched between the conservatory and nextdoor. Literally I'll have todo all the work next door as there's about 10cm of space between the wall and the post.
I'll have to put a concrete post support in. Every other post has it except this one.

So far today I've put up two curtain rails and hung a radiator thats too long by 2-3cm bloody old house and imperial rads, trying to convert to metric is a pain!

Who on earth puts gravel boards under a half height homebase panel fence with timber posts? Typical ocuk response.

I put them under my Wickes (6ft) ones with timber posts. The panels are pretty flimsy and I thought the gravel boards make them last a bit longer if they were raised off the ground.

I never said they didn't look good, in the op's case digging out the old concrete sounds like the hardest bit of the job which thankfully I didn't have to do.

Since binning Onkyo surround sound and speakers from lounge I wondered what to do with it all.

Solved it today - it's all fitted in garage so listening to wireless (radio to young uns) and sounds better than it did in house - probably because garage is smaller.

The reason they aren't flat on the ground was because as I dug out the old concrete/posts i dug up and levelled out the ground and there was another post that I couldn't get out, so I just smashed it as far down as I could with a sledge hammer and that's as low as it would go sadly :( so I just lined them up accordingly.

But thanks for the positive comments, even my uncle who is a builder/master of everything like that was impressed :D next thing is to paint it all :(
