What "man jobs" have you done today?

Nice work, looks great. What finish did you use?

Thanks. I used Sikkens after seeing your post about your gate actually!

Cetol HLS light oak followed by Filter 7 in light oak. The cost of the Sikkens was about 35% of the overall build cost. Madness! The shiplap panels are a slightly different shade because they're tanalised but I quite like the effect.

I thought it looked like Sikkens. Yeah it's expensive stuff, but the results are very good imo. I like how the grain and knots are visible through it.

It's not much of a test but mine is still looking good a year and a bit on. My neighbours fence that he painted in a similar colour to my gate after seeing mine has faded already. I think he used some cheap water based Ronseal stuff.

Nice price drop, but you probably just paid the going rate and they were trying to rip you off in the first place.

Will add pic when delivered on Monday. Deffo not the going rate. These would definitely retail at least £400 in the likes of oak furniture land or whatever.

The only discount at maccy d's was a free latte on as I had 6 stamps!

Started to fix a dodgy man-hole cover on the drive. Took out the old concrete so I could remove the rim and clean out a few more bits. I've put in some new 40N concrete which looks good level-wise but will set if it needs any more tomorrow.

Pic of said side board:

The Bose speakers are a bit safer now as they were right next to the kitchen sink on the worktop.

Stripped the lath & plaster off two walls in the back bedroom and replaced with insulated plasterboard, and overboarded one of the internal walls. Other internal wall is a solid brick party wall & will just get skimmed with the rest of the room.

The pink foam aerosol plasterboard adhesive is a lot more hassle than its worth.

Shortened and moved my Worktop desk from one wall to the other. Would have been a relatively easy job if my circular saw hadn't packed up (instead had to improvise with a chop saw from each end, and then a tenon saw to cut the middle - not ideal, but after planing the end it's straight and against the wall so not seen anyway)
