I built a thing over the last week or so. Shed provided by Tiger Sheds - the quality wasn't great and they missed a number of the fixings I needed (half of the screws were missing) but I was able to build it watertight and straight with some manhandling.

Area before clearing:

Cleared, levelled and with membrane and grids:

Shed base laid on top of additional bearers (not provided by Tiger) and first haul of 10mm pea gravel:

Finished article:

[Edit] Forgot to add, size is 12x4 - I couldn't go any wider without getting too close to the house and losing the ability to get behind the shed at the back.

Nice,

Not quite up to that standard but I picked up a folding wooden outdoor table for ours from ikea, it fits perfectly and packs away flat in the garage for when not in use.

Pretty silly of me but about 2 years ago I laid a Moduleo LVT floor in the kitchen and forgot to remove the sticky tape cover

One of the tiles was about 2mm too big as well, so there wasn't adequate expansion gap. It meant there was a fraction of a mm rise that was driving me nuts.

I hadn't contemplated this jigsaw not going back together properly but thankfully it did. The tiny issue is gone - all done and dusted in about 2 hours.

Took Friday off and had a long weekend doing stuff in the garden.

When we had the kitchen extension done we had the main incoming electrical supply moved from overhead wire to buried cable. BT/Openreach still have their cables on it feeding me and next door. After 18 months plus of refusing to move them / silence,.out the blue they are coming "in the next two weeks" to out a new pole in the verge alongside our property, drop and remove the existing pole in our garden. Great news, but had to shift two roses growing up it. Not the best time of year, but needs must.

One was actually buried in a pot...

IMG-20220520-093556.jpg

Mrs TB wanted them in by the pollarded tree which one end of the washing line is tied to

IMG-20220520-094551.jpg

So dug out a small bed and transferred / ties up the roses

IMG-20220520-105217.jpg

Then the "woodland area" by the gazebo was in dire need of weeding

IMG-20220520-110545.jpg

IMG-20220520-153353.jpg

Could also do with another load of bark chippings to top it off ...

We had another 2 ton (or 1700kg) of topsoil delivered for various jobs - first was mounding up the potatoes
IMG-20220520-131814.jpg

Then topping off the back flower beds

IMG-20220520-153333.jpg

IMG-20220520-153340.jpg

Then round to the front which has been neglected since we moved in 5 years ago

IMG-20220521-135200.jpg

Were a few lumps of sandstone to dig out

IMG-20220521-160240.jpg

Raked out, weeded and dug over

IMG-20220521-160256.jpg

Then topped off with topsoil after shaping the edge

IMG-20220521-164700.jpg

IMG-20220521-164710.jpg

Put a twee little "path" in to get the lawnmower in

IMG-20220522-100210.jpg

Weeded the raised bed under the front window

IMG-20220522-103243.jpg

More topsoil topping

IMG-20220522-121013.jpg

Then another border needed for the front garden ...

IMG-20220522-121034.jpg

Dug

IMG-20220522-131157.jpg

More topsoil ....

IMG-20220522-144735.jpg

IMG-20220522-160034.jpg

Long three days, tired and achy, but starting to look good out the front

IMG-20220522-161619.jpg

Not quite as good as next door, but meh

Scored a free petrol lawnmower this week, perfect timing as I now have a garden to stay on top of (pictured is the garden I'm moving out of...). Grabbed some petrol to make sure it runs, then ordered a service kit as it's been pretty poorly looked after.

State of the air filter, spark plug and oil:

Cleaned up the intake box and the rear of the carb body which was ABSOLUTELY CAKED with a lovely black oil/dirt/leaves/grass blend.

New bits!

I've reassembled and run it, but still going to clean the body up so not taken photos yet. I've spent at least an hour scraping dried mud out of every joint and crevice so far. Also sharpened the blade as I had it apart.

Still - working mower at EXACTLY the right moment in life - definitely worth £25 and an afternoon tinkering!

You say poorly looked after, I don't think it's ever been looked at :p . Bet it will be satisfying when it's back together and sounds good.

100%, it was getting a bit wordy but I wanted to say "read: never once" :p

It certainly runs better now than it did when I first started it. Yet to actually try mowing with it, we're taking it up to the new house tomorrow!
