What PC games are you playing?

I've just started GoW Ragnarok and it's great so far, not that I'm very good at it. One of the most pleasing things is an excellent HDR presentation with nice low blacks to let my OLED monitor shine.

Other than that I'm still playing Darktide (after stopping for some months), and will pick up in Cyberpunk again once I upgrade my gfx card (aiming to pickup a next gen model of some description at the start of next year).
 
Added a new game I will now be playing weekly as it's actually lots of fun both in arcade solo mode and onlilne with mates/cousins/randoms.


A better more modern Smash bros.
 
Deltaforce for the BF itch and some friends just got HellDivers 2 so giving that a blast!

Got a few months of Gamepass for cheap and rediscovering PC gaming on a new screen. Grabbed a decent mechanical keyboard and a new mouse as well and have to say it feels nice playing stuff on KB+M again but I still gravitate to Dualsense for everything TPP.

Currently enjoying Indiana Jones, Lies of P and Hi-Fi Rush (super-fun game so far).

Also leisurely replaying Control with the HDR patch.

Who said it's replacing smash bros for tournaments? Smash is also quite bad for online play. The main issue being lag, which this has none of.

Yeh Nine Sols is great. I'm guessing I'm about half way as I've just beaten my 5th boss. My vote for goty was Black myth Wukong, but I'm enjoying this just as much. Actually needs some skill, so the adrenaline and heart pounding after beating a hard boss is what gaming is all about, non of these modern walking simulators that are more for the techy inside of me than the gamer :)

Keep at it. It will click if you perserveer. It's all about getting your parry timing. I usually use dodge in these type of games and forget about parry. This game needs you to learn the parry timings.

Nobody. I'm just saying the game may be better in terms of mechanics but due to the fact it's just a load of nobody characters it's never going to be better in that regard.
 
That's irrelevant, Smash players have seemingly found a better Smash than Smash, and it actually works online, so it's a replacement for Smash even if it doesn't overtake Smash (it was not designed to anyway) - Though it has all the traits of Smash and controls and character styles that are all unique.

I would actually suggest giving it a play before marking it off as "nobody" characters. Some of them beat the characters in Smash even thanks to their abilities.

No I don't like smash. And no, there is absolutely no character in that game that has the recognition or history of any of the Nintendo characters and have existed in their own respective games.
So yes they are nobodies that were created just for that game, or are you telling me that game has cameo appearances for characters from other games like Cloud from Final Fantasy, or Link etc? I.e known characters.

Again, I'm not saying it's not as good a game. I'm just saying in terms of characters I don't really see them as ones anyone cares about outside of people playing the game.
 
Many who plays smash don't play it because of character recognition or history lol. It's all about the righting abilities. It's just that no other game has been able to match the combat mechanics of Smash so 1:1 until this game, in actual fact it's better implemented than any Smash game.

I’m playing Animal Well at the moment, which is a ‘MetroidVania’, retro-styled, with an atmosphere that shuffles masterfully between peaceful and ominous.

Not yet finished, but I’d recommend it. Really leans on making you figure out how to progress… very little handholding. Absolutely zero dialogue / story as well. Basically, all the best bits of a metroidvania distilled down into something weird and smart.

Great stuff. Definitely a ‘Nitefly’ sort of game… I like quirky, odd things and appreciate these nuances.

You might not get on with it if you prefer more combat / story / dislike retro visuals.
