What RAM are you getting/bought for Ryzen

hi peeps, just got me a msi gaming pro carbon. looking to get some 3200mhz ram to go with this and a 1600.
anyone know of some ram that's good with this board?
tia :)

Only tried the TeamGroup 3600 so far and its happy at 2933, not tried the TeamGroup 3000 or the Corsair 3200 yet as I am waiting for a new BIOS release.

Just finished building my rig with the Asrock Fatal1ty K4 and 3200 Vengeance RAM

Without changing voltages anywhere it runs stable at 3.7Ghz OC and 2933mhz on memory on air cooling

Will prob wait for the latest BIOS releases this month before going higher

Running one of the R5 1600 in the same ASRock board, with Corsair Vengeance LPX 3466MHz, sitting happy at 3200MHz with zero effort 14-14-14-32 at 1.35v, CPU will do 3.9GHz at 1.200v in the BIOS, which reads as 1.155 VID.

Are you running BIOS 2.50?

I've just managed to buy the stuff in my sig, got this model of G.Skill ram: F4-3200C14D-32GTZKW. The Trident Z 3200mhz 32gb kits at CAS14 are reported as working everywhere I've read so far so went for those. Plus the B&W model will match the motherboard :p

Shipping it in from Germany for £329, will post back in a few days with results.

I have F4-3866C18D-16GTZR running at 3200mhz on a MSI B350 Tomahawk bios version 1.3, not updated to 1.4 because it works fine and I am scared... lol.

I managed to score a kit of G.Skill Trident Z F4-3600C16D-16GTZ this weekend for £130 delivered (when you convert it from DKK to GBP), result! I thought the listing was wrong as the next price up was about £70 more, but went for it anyway. Didnt get an email back for the order but the money went out of my account today and after a quick email to the supplier I had the tracking info! it's on its way!

I'm hoping I can get 3200 C14 out of this on a MSI B350 Tomahawk Artic, but if it A-XMP's to 3200 with looser timings all be happy.

Also have an Arctic cooling liquid freezer 240, Samsung 960 evo 250GB, the Tomahawk Arctic on its way.

Havent ordered a CPU yet, looking at a 1700 but waiting for a deal, its about £292 here in DK at the moment but ive seen them as low as £280. I'm away until the weekend so if it gets to Thursday and there are no 1700 deals i'll just pay the £292 for one.

So far spent £402, so £700 ish including the CPU at current prices including the extra NVME SSD. bloody bargain!

Then if VEGA is a good purchase i'll add one of them to replace my aging 290 :)

It should be a fun weekend of building.

Matt.

I read that Ryzen relies on fast RAM and saw that quicker RAM did improve performance by quite a bit so I'm using G.skill Trident Z RGB 3200Mhz RAM. I went for 16gb as that is plenty for me and ddr4 prices are silly at the moment. And I bought CL14 RAM because I found a great deal on some, £140 delivered. :)
Honestly if you want RGB Ram, IMHO the G.skill stuff looks much better in person and miles better than corsairs vengeance RGB.

Just a quick update to say I put the G.Skill Trident Z F4-3600C16D-16GTZ together with an MSI tomahawk arctic, 1700 @ 3.8 in a very quick and dirty overclock yesterday. I'm using the new BETA bios with all the new ram multipliers listed and went straight into windows at DDR3333, cinebench result of 1698. 3433 and 3600 wouldnt boot but I think it should be possible with some bios changes. once I have the new kit in the PC case with the new AIO on i'll do some proper overclocking and stability testing and then report back again!

New Gigabyte 1006 bios on the gaming 5 has my G Skills 3466C16 booting straight up at 3466 off the xmp profile. I couldn't even post at 3200 before.

So is it worth getting faster RAM then? I was orignally planning to go with 3200MHz, but should I maybe step up to higher speeds? I have a good budget of £200 odd for a 16GB kit and this new BIOS has made me completely confused yet again on what to go for :p.

I've got some 3600 Gskill Ripjaws which I'm going to try tonight. Previously had some Teamgroup Dark Pro that I couldn't get above 2400. I'll do some benchmarks before I swap :)
