What Restaurant did you eat at last night?

Had a dear colleagues "leaving meal" yesterday (he is leaving but I imagine we will speak more than ever now he isn't bogged down by the organisational dogma :D).

We went to Beast last year. Spent a fortune on steak from the board, but it was worth it. Fantastic!!

Last month - Frog by Adam Handling. Our second time there, we thought it was fantastic when we first went but if anything it was even better this time. Food is packed with flavour and the alcohol free drink pairing is very, very good. Just because I don't drink alcohol doesn't mean I want to drink water and fruit juice all night.

Saturday night - Black Swan at Oldstead. Our second time here too. A great night, really tasty good and I've discovered a new flavour combination that I like - rhubarb & lemon verbena. The journey home was a bit fun, with the heavy rain there was lots of flooding and one road was borderline impassable.

We went to Frog the weekend before last and like you say it was fantastic. There are a few extras to be upsold, but, it really was fantastic. Really recommended. I'd like to try Loch and Tyne in Windsor next, it's not too far down the road from us.

I'm down that way for work most weeks so am planning to head there for dinner next time I'm staying over.

We visited the Princess Elizabeth in Dunkirk on Saturday and was treated to wonderful dining and fantastic service on this beautiful and historic ship that has many stories to tell.
The food does change to match the seasons and is very much from the sea, although meat and fowl fans are well catered for.
The ship sits with a rough 4° list to Starboard due to how she sits on the harbour floor, which adds to the dining at sea experience, but without force 9 and 10m sea's

Our server bought us drinks at the end of service as he enjoyed chatting to us, which made the whole visit one we both really enjoyed.

Not last night, but last week I was in Crete visiting family and we went to a spot in Chania called Adespoto Taverna.

I had a slow-roast rolled pork belly dish with grilled vegetables and a grape molasses sauce. And it was exquisite.

Please excuse the crappiness of my photography skills.

Easily the nicest thing in a sea of nice things that I had while out and about there.

Took my mother out for a late Xmas and Birthday celebration last week so I took her to Bouchon Racine and River Cafe. Both places I can absolutely recommend! Happy to provide pics if requested :)

Went to Dishoom's Birmingham restaurant yesterday. I'd been to a Dishoom ages ago in London for breakfast and it was great, so wanted to try a proper dinner with them.

The house black daal is fantastic - rich and heavy on flavour. I had some alongside the Dishoom Chicken Tikka - a sharp and nicely spiced marinade, chicken grilled perfectly. The people I was with shared the Birmingham special, a prawn pathia which they both loved.

I STILL haven’t been to Dishoom in Brum. Everyone seems to really rate it, so I’m glad it continues to deliver. It does especially well to stand out in a sea of really top quality Asian food.

It is really decent. Been for lunch a number of times, never been for breakfast. But get a table by the window when the weather is nice and it's great.

It was the wife and I's 10 year wedding anniversary so we went back to Gordon Ramseys Bar & Grill in Mayfair and had a phenomenal Wagyu steak for the first time and went to Nottos in Covent Garden and had some sublime pasta, would certainly recommend it if you're in that part of London.

Was my birthday at the start of May and Frankie and bennys sent me a free main email voucher so used it over the weekend.

Was extremely impressed, Had "steak and fries" the steak was a lot bigger than i was expecting, nice and thick cooked to perfection, fries were amazing too and came with side of mushrooms which were incredible!! Also had the frankies waffle for pudding, which was also massive and tasted very nice!

Was one of the best meals i have had for a while, and the fact only had to pay for one of our mains was a bonus! will 100% be going back.
