Somewhere in the middle.
- Way early
- Just before
- Bang on Time.
- Just after
- Regularly late

I aim to be "Just before" but I'm usually bang on time.

If my start time is 7.30am, I'll walk in about 7.25-7.30am.

Some people turn up at like 7am and have a brew before starting. This is something I'd personally rather do in my own house.

Guess I just don't like giving my time up for free.

What category would you fall into?

Start time is anything before 10am, so I normally roll up at 9.30.

It's completely flexible though, so the earlier I start the earlier I can finish.

I used to work at a gaff and the amount of times people were late was ridiculous, 3/4 minutes without fail. Just getup 5 minutes earlier ffs.

Shift starts at 7, I turn up at 6:30, next shift tech turns up at 6:30.
So you miss all the traffic leaving /entering site

I don't understand why people feel the need to turn up early to have a brew... you can have a brew at any time during the working day.... no reason why they can't turn up at their exact starting time and have a brew (assuming they work in an office job).

I officially start at anywhere between 07:00 to 10:30 but I drop the missus off at work each morning and cba to go back home to mull about so I get to work every morning regardless of when my 'start time' is at about 06:50.

06:50 to 18:30 today, long ass day.

Man that's not a Work/Life balance I'd want to experience.

I used to turn up 30-45 minutes early. But I've taken to sticking to my contracted hours and taking my full hour lunch now due to work taking the biscuit.

I get in at 8:30 every day for a 9 start and......make a brew! But I do not actually work until 9 and usually read stuff online or eat breakfast.

Aim for just before most of the time. on the nicer days of summer i tend to turn up a fair bit earlier and chill with colleagues or spend some time in the sun by the river.

I use to work in a place where people would turn up just before, chat with other colleagues and as soon as it is work time, get up to make some tea or coffee. I personally cant work like that and see little point. If i had a routine of waiting until i start work to procrastinate, i wouldn't get out of that mentality until noon.

What would you do in them 45 minutes? Just sit around waiting to do something?

I can start whenever I like, but I am always in the office at 07:30. Don't get paid till 8 though.

The reason is that I am lucky to have an employer who rewards good work, dedication, flexibility and willingness to go the extra mile (as in working early for no money). I've had two promotions, and two very generous payrises in three years.
I'll carry on, as at the start of the year I got offered interim group manager position, rather than manager of the company I'm physically located at. There was no payrise, many people thought I was a fool for doing it, but I know this time next year I'll have added 10k to my salary.

Chap at work always shakes his head at how hard I work, then wonders why he hasn't had a payrise in 7 years.

The real kicker, is that I really enjoy it.

Grab a coffee and dive right into work.

Also, others get here 7am onwards and I'm IT support so If I'm in the office then it's fair game to interrupt whatever I'm doing even if I eating breakfast etc. General rule seems to be, if you're in the office, you're on work time.

Since it's so damn busy and some people don't recognise it or the fact that i've gone over and above for the past god-knows how many years putting in more time. I'm now sticking to my hours.

Work from home and have a flexible start time, normally any time between 7:30 and 10

I'm on flexi time but I'll generally start about 07:25 and am out the door between 15:45-16:00.

Means I can beat most of the traffic before and after.
