Caporegime
Just finishing up The English Game, a cracking historical miniseries about the early days of the FA and the first professional players.
How does it compare to the Spanish one?Money Heist Korea: Joint Economic Area
it's excellent but very long.

All of which are great TV, no? "Oh jeez, they've gone and made more great TV... can't they do something different?" Also, I would say it's different. Yes, it's a cop/detective show, but if you're being that broad your list would go on for pages...This is just another Line of Duty / Bodyguard / Luther in a different skin.
Personally, I'd highly recommend it. Oldman is a fantastic character too.Shame to hear that, this was going to be a show I started soon. I believe Oldman said this is his final acting role too before retirement.
It helps to know what you’re in for. If you want more copy-pasta bbc style defective drama, you’ll be fine. All of which are great TV, no? If you are non-spanish, I would say the Korean one is better. I live in Spain so the original still has the edge, for me.How does it compare to the Spanish one?
I just finished Ep4... still bored
I don't see what the hype is about - but only 2 more episodes in season 1, so i'll push through.
Yeah same here. To me its just meh. Cant understand all the hype and rave reviews of it.
Maybe it's just me but, Emily Blunt notwithstanding, I really didn't rate this show at all. I know it's had rave reviews but I was really rather bored watching it if I'm honest. Mum mentioned the same to me when I spoke to her, and clearly for her EB was not an excuse to even try and like it.Just finishing up The English Game, a cracking historical miniseries about the early days of the FA and the first professional players.

Thanks. I'm trying to learn some Spanish and decent TV show is a good way to go. Watched a few minutes just now, to see how I get on. I don't understand much, but I think it could help (English Subs on of course)How does it compare to the Spanish one?
i am indeed and just noticed my error before I saw your reply . As for The English Game ... zzzzzzz football zzzzzz, worse than The English*Emily Blunt wasn't in The English Game? Are you perhaps thinking of the similarly titled The English?
I'm with you on this one. Felt this started out ok but really held little intrigue. Sets and performances decent enough, learned a bit of history but ultimately left not hankering for a second season. 3/5 max for me.Maybe it's just me but, Emily Blunt notwithstanding, I really didn't rate this show at all. * I'm sure it's a good series but I have absolutely zero interest in football
Thanks for that really useful summary, you’ve convinced me to give it a go!If you are non-spanish, I would say the Korean one is better. I live in Spain so the original still has the edge, for me.
Basically, any mistakes that were made in S1 & S2 of the Spanish one, are somewhat rectified in the Korean remake. Basic story is 90% the same, but the 10% they decided to change, really gives it an edge, in terms of the story(telling).
In terms of Length, its less episodes than the Netflix cut of S1 and S2 (22 x 45 min epsiodes), but the overall length is probably nigh on identical. The original Spanish cut had 1 hour + episodes and the Korean one sort of mimics that.
Edit: Much less focus on teh romance and a lot less flashbacks in the Korean one as well. It's also political, whereas the Spanish one wasn't. Basic North/South Korea stuff, nothing you need a History lesson for!

Halfway through season 2 now and i'm raising my score in line with IMDB to 8.5 - there is such depth to this character and subtle incidents throughout that flesh this story/world out to something which feels believable and not just written for TV.I've had Mr Inbetween recommended to me from various people over the years but always forgot to follow up on recommendations. Browsing D+ the other night and noticed it was there and quite short episodes so decided to give it a go as wife was putting our son to bed.
Watched 4 episodes so far and all I can say is what a great little show - basically a low key Australian crime/dramedy with a solid anti-hero.
Rated as 8.6/10 on IMDB which seems a little high from what i've seen so far but an 7.5/10 rating is about right.
Threw me seeing Dewey Crowe from Justified, had no idea he was Australian.
Watched three episodes so far and not feeling the love. More like a soap than a historical fantasy drama. On episode 6 of house of the dragon.
I don't even know what I'm watching. Seems fairly terrible so far
Does it get better?
