What TV shows are you currently watching

Started watching 'Back' on C4 catchup. I have no idea how I missed this when it aired as I am a big fan of David Mitchell and Robert Webb (Peep Show is still one of the best).

Only watched the 1st two episodes and it is pretty good. Definitely influenced by Peep Show.

Coming back to this ^ post.

The first half of the first episode was terrible. But it gets going later.

I'm now about halfway through season 2, and really enjoying it. Reminds me of Lost, but less supernatural (but a bit more don't-think-too-hard sci-fi).
 
I'm going through Black Sails for the first time after getting nostalgic after seeing Assassins Creed: Black Flag in my Steam list. 3 episodes in and it's a bit rubbish but in the good way haha!

Yeah, I found Black Sails pretty rubbish. Got enough entertainment to last me until the 2nd half of the 2nd season, but gave up at that point.

Some seem to really like it, though.
 
I couldn't even get through the first episode of black sails lol

Watched Jack Ryan over the weekend which was ok. Nothing groundbreaking, but enough to keep me entertained.
 
my crime fix is being fed by Harrow and Instinct

Harrow is Australian TV so has proper swearing, I am suprised at the difference it makes, it just seems to sound more natural for a work environment...especially were the police are involved

Instinct is a bit more lightweight..Alan Cumming keeping the scottish tweed industry in business by the look of his coats so far!
 
Get Shorty Season 1 done - superb. Ozark Season 2 - as good as the first, which was excellent. Next up... Jack Ryan, Get Shorty S2, Mr Mercedes S2, Marvellous Mrs Maisel S1. Never-ending amounts of great TV at the moment.

Jack Ryan was a pale comparison of the book, an ok action film but a real let down in adaptation of the novel, no character development or background (most of the book is about Rapp’s training and rivalry with Victor), Hurley was weak, I don’t reckon Keaton read the book so played the character far too soft.

EDIT: scratch that, I was mixing it up with American Assassin the movie! The Jack Ryan series is completely different, will give it a go.

We just started S1 of Ballers last night too. My wife is a huge Dwayne Johnson fan so we put aside our natural disinterest in anything about sports and gave it a go. The first episode was really good but, although the friend who recommended it to us did mention it, I didn't realise it was only 30 ins long. We were totally into it and then it suddenly stopped. :)
 
So then you just start the next one, surely? :)

Just finished S2 of Glow. It's a little dull at times, but quite enjoyed it in the end.
 
Last episode of the high castle series 2 tonight.

Different, bit too nasty at times, but something that's been anything but a chore to go through.
 
I'm currently up to date with "Better Call Saul". I love the filmography and production of this series.. It won't be to everyone's liking but in places it's a work of art.

We started watching "Peaky Blinders" last night to see what the fuss is all about. Not sure the modern rock background score really suits a post war 1919 period drama tbh, and the acting looks pretty shoddy so far.
 
Started the Night Manager last night.

Bit cheesy with some terrible lines, usual British TV show deal. Crammed a lot in the first episode to set the scene, be interesting to see if it settles into something better.
