What TV shows are you currently watching

I've been intending to pick The Boys up, good to see it getting positive feedback.

I'm currently watching Fringe, a little bit late to the party with that one but I'm enjoying it enough so far, absolutely love John Noble. I've also been thinking of picking up Pennyworth, the Batman prequel, think I'll start on The Boys first and let it build up a few episodes though.

The Boys really good I actually prefer the super Hero tv shows the movies are boring derivate rubbish especially the Marvel films you have seen one you have seen them all.

Blasting my way through Stranger Things. Tried episode 1 years ago and just wasn't feeling it, even with the '80s theme. However, this time I forced myself through the first 3 episodes and will finish episode 7, 8 and the first series tonight. I'm sort of enjoying it, even though I understand it fails to pieces in the final series. Doesn't everything!

I loved the first two seasons of Stranger Things but after a very lacklustre first episode I am finding it hard to want to watch more - the sheriff is just so downbeat and depressing and Mike is an annoying little ****.

Euphoria.

Anyone watching this? Haven't started it yet, trying to decide if its a bit too teen for my liking. (She will probably love it!)
I'd assumed it would drop one episode per week, but looks like they're all available. I'll put it on the list, as it sounds pretty great, but there's a lot of stuff dropping just now that I might watch first: Glow S3, Gotham S5 foremost.

Legion season 3. A much needed step back from the madness / confusion of season 2 without losing any of its style and charm. Still wild, but not absurdly so. Last (ever) episode next week.

Also recently watched The Boys, Chernobyl, Dark, Stranger Things S3 and all have been excellent.

Didn't know Final Space S2 was out, weird netflix didnt notify me seeing as I watched S1.

Thanks for the recommendations for The Boys, I wouldn’t have noticed that without it. It’s brilliant! I watched the first 3 episodes back to back last night (had only intended to watch 1 - whoops) and they were brilliant. A dark superhero black comedy but also imitating the Hollywood that has lead to the #metoo movement. I love Supernatural so it is good to have a new show written by Eric Kripke.

It’s not on Netflix yet.

I've been watching Manifest still (still don't know why, it's truly awful yet I keep watching) but I've also started Chernobyl again as the acting in Manifest is so bad I had to remind myself of good TV!

My friends just bought a nice fancy new TV and Sonos surround sound so we've been watching Band of Brothers again. Looks and sounds amazing. Going to watch episodes 5 and 6 this evening. Dreading episode 9 already.

Is episode 9 the discovery of the camps? I remember that broke me when I first watched it.

I never actually finished Band of Brothers. I was watching it on DVD, at a time where I pretty much didn't watch any TV at all, and the time since watching whatever the last episode I saw (probably about 6 or 7) just extended too far and I didn't feel like going back to it.

Should revisit, think it's on NowTV isn't it?

I'd really suggest re-watching, it's totally timeless and has aged very well. Since it came out close to 20 years ago, i've watched through it probably 4 times.

Another thing i'd suggest is sticking with all the veteran interview parts at the start/end of some episodes. You can normally guess who is which character but it doesn't tell you right until the end of the series who is who. The final quote from one of the veterans at the very end of the series leaves me a blubbering mess.

Yeah that's the one. It's an important episode but it's a really hard watch.

The series as a whole though is just outstanding.

I need to watch through it yet again I think. :D

It was until very recently. Not on there at the moment. I would definitely recommend giving it another go, it's one of the best TV shows I've ever seen (It's up there with Sopranos and The Wire for me, easily)

The interviews at the beginning actually make the show hit home so much more for me cause you see them as old men. And these old men are telling stories involving real people. I'm not that interested in the historys of wars but this show can capture anyones attention. And if anyone needed remembering that war had no real winners, this show shown it really well. The German speech is amazingly moving

The interviews do bring home the reality of what you are seeing. Also as they don't name them until the show finishes, you do get some unexpected character deaths throughout the show.

I mentioned it as I had a friend who hadn't seen it until a few years ago. He watched it over a few days and we were chatting about it. He said it wasn't really that engaging and he didn't feel attached to anyone. I said didn't the interviews make a difference to which he replied "I skipped those cos they were boring"
