Understood, thanks for that. I'll definintely start off with some gentle titles before going for the more intense experiences.
Whilst I understand that people are offering well-meant advice re: starting off slow, it really just depends on your own personal reaction to VR. This talk of "beginners" is a bit misleading - it's only if you struggle with VR that you might need to slowly get used to it, many people can just dive right in.

The only times I've had an issue with VR making me dizzy was when my PC was struggling and things got choppy, or I was moving my head and the display was frozen - that can make you fall over for sure!

There is no reason to wait before trying games like HL:Alyx or Project Cars - just dip into them, and there's every chance you'll be fine and you can crack on straight away :)

The only caveat to that advice is that if you do feel dizzy, ill, or sick due to VR motion sickness then STOP immediately and come back later when you feel better. If you try to push through it you run the risk of making your brain associate being ill with VR, so you'll feel sick the moment you put on the headset. This is very difficult to get over, so it's best to be aware and prevent this from happenning in the first place.

Thanks all for the great advice, much appreciated.

I'll be setting it up over the weekend and will take it slow on my first sessions to see how my aging brain deals with it!

Cheers.

I was getting sick quickly playing Squadrons on PS4 using a controller. I bought a pretty cheap HOTAS kit and I can now play for long sessions without sickness. I have no idea how or why that is the case. Perhaps its a feeling of better engagement with the ship or something??

Been playing Return To Castle Wolfenstein VR and the AI of the enemy is amazing and I am playing on the easiest skill level !

https://sidequestvr.com/app/1446/rtcwquest

Just took a quick look at the link and I have questions!

I own the regular version of Return To Castle Wolfenstein on Steam, but it appears that this is not a PCVR nod and the game needs to be installed onto the Oculus Quest. Then looking further at https://www.rtcwquest.com/ it seems that you do install stuff on your PC to play it. What did you actually do to get the full game running and do you have to buy anything if you already have RTCW on Steam?

All I did was install the vr mod (which is free) onto the quest 2 then copy over some of the files from my pc RTCW on steam to the quest 2 .If you already own RTCW you are good to go. Just follow the instructions here https://www.rtcwquest.com. Obviously you need to install sidequest first on your pc as this is needed to install the vr mod directly onto your quest 2 headset.

Hmm strange one, probably to do with your arms and hands being where you would expect them to be in context?

Got it side loaded on the Quest 2 and up and running with the HD texture pack now!
