What was the first online multiplayer game you played?

Big Red Racing or War Craft 2 it would have been on the Wireplay DOS client that I got free on some random magazine around 95/96 I think.

Frightening phone bills in those days.

For me, my first online multiplayer experience was - Diablo II

The game was already a few years old by then too... Before then I didn't have a connection and even after then I didn't have a PC that could do anything more powerful haha!!

I still remember being absolutely enthralled by the idea that I was playing with someone else somewhere far far away at the same time!! The first guy I ever played with was Amercian, twas awesome talking about the time difference and all that haha :D

Very first was the original GTA over dial-up lol.
But first real online play was probably Unreal if memory serves me well.

on lan would have been quake 2, Online at home it was either Starcraft or Diablo 1, can't remember which was first.

Possibly age of empires or star trek voyager elite force, although im unsure, i played doom or duke nukem 3d on lan once before them though if that counts?

UT `99 ,quake 2/3 or halflife far too long ago to be exact to which was first but have a feeling was UT followed by a rather large phone bill lol

2 players = Doom, Warcraft: Orcs & Humans (I think that was MP), Road Rash.

More than 2 players = Duke Nukem and Diablo, but still on LAN. I think Descent was in there also.

First properly connected to a gaming server was UT.
