What was your first ever post on the Forums?

Oh mate.. those were the days.. When I was shopping for my first "big boy" card! June 2013.

well with £228 under my belt, i'll squeeze in the 10 odd quid more for the KFA2 670, as I was originally going with a XFX DD 7870 Tahiti card and a 500w Corsair PSU, but I can wait a while to grab the PSU as the 670 will be a lot better.

Ended up getting the MSI Power Edition GTX 670, and Corsair CX500.

Its a grovelling post in the free shipping thread, which is why I signed up originally... :p

It was a spec me a system post and it's just made me realise that my system is now seven years old...

Maybe I need an upgrade!

Mine is 5 years old now, so 7 years old must be 1st gen i5/i7?

Still decent. :)

Wow what was I hoping to get from this?

Hi all, apologies for my noobishness. I'm trying to get the most out of my old system while I save up to put together a gaming rig, and wanted to see what was recommended before I started tinkering around.

CPU: P4 3Ghz
Mobo: foxconn sis-661fx (socket 478)
gpu: Sapphire HD2400 pro AGP
Ram: 2Gb pc3200 ddr
Cooling: stock cpu fan + 12cm Hiper case fan + rubbish stock fan used as an exhaust

Is it worth trying to squeeze more out of the cpu? My main problem is online gaming (where my graphics card really lets me down), so is it worth upgrading to an HD3850 to last me while I save up? or should I just hold out for a new board and just deal with it for now? Thanks in advance for the advice.

From the Small Form Factor sub section:

Posted 3rd Oct 2004, 03:08 (so I think some of my earlier posts must had been purged. There are some posts from 2005 that I can't find either. 2006 onwards seems to be intact.

Form Factor: SB61G2
Manufacturer: Shuttle
CPU: P4 2.8 HT
RAM: Twinmos 2x256 DDR400 (dual-channel)
HDD(s): Maxtor 80GB, 8MB cache
GFX: Geforce FX 5600, 256MB vivo
Speed (if overclocked): 3157MHz (3.5x902)
Temps: 56C on load (running United Devices)

Stable at 3157MHz (FSB=225 x 14) and I notice the speed difference already. Could I stretch it to 3600MHz? Oh by the way I'm using the improved 250W PSU as opposed to the stock 200W one.

A mere query from back in 2009.

Why does the fact that textbooks and mathematicians use 0.9r to represent 1 get people to misunderstand the word represent.

Its used to represent 1 as there is only an infinetly small remainder in difference. The significance of an infinitely small remainder is too small to make much of a difference, and it is just an infinitely small difference between 0.9r and 1,

It is a different number, but its just logical to treat is as a representative of 1 for the sake of ease of caluclation.

*Wtih awful splleing, for yuor bemuesment or annoynance.

worked fine for almost two years and stopped working . Tried rolling back drivers , driver fusion. Checked monitor cables, monitors and once I put in an old HD 4860 my computer displayed fine. My warranty is due to run out 6/12/2012 is there any point in going direct to Sapphire or do I have any comeback with OCuk ? My PSU id corsair 650W
