What watch do you wear?

My seamaster I sent to Omega two weeks ago arrived back today, originally sent for warranty work as it would stop after 10 mins, invoice says full service to get the movement back to working standard. They replaced screws in the bracelet as well and cleaned it up which was unexpected, also arrive in a nice travel box, all in all very happy.

That's fast service! My Speedmaster which I sent back via the AD isn't due back until April! Am seriously missing it not being on my wrist.

Straps now all sorted I think. Chose the blue Barton canvas for the Laco as the blue plays off the blue AR and blued hands in the light and kinda goes with the grey case too. The buckle is grey but glossy so at one point I will sand it to a matte grey to match the case. The black rubber suits the Stowa best I think due to the dial being so deep black through that dome whereas the others are slightly off black due to the double sided AR.

Neat little hand wind collection going

Personal irks.
Pretty sure that almost every human brain has the agility to extrapolate.....
other people's personal irks might favour an off-centre date window even less than a truncated 6 digit - like some Seikos have at the 4 o'clock position - and what a hard time some people give them for that.
It's a design choice and it's reflected across the market quite extensively (I think my Citizen ecodrive has a truncated 6).

Whilst true, it is a annoyance still. I'm surprised I got that Seiko Alpinist with a date window too as I normally avoid them like the plague but dial was really cool so made an exception.

I like that Laco, looks good on the blue. A pilot will be my next purchase, later in the year I think! Type B variation 100%!

I took advantage of the sales at WatchGecko to get some new straps, they arrived today. All of them are quick release, first experience with quick release straps - nice!

The leather strap on my Visodate got wet last year, from all things; washing my hands! The leather never recovered from it. I had it on a leather alligator strap that I was never really happy with. It's now on a nice chocolate brown leather.

The Cocktail time has also finally had an upgrade of strap, the supplied Seiko strap is pretty awful, it's shiney and looks cheap; I have no idea why It's taken me so long to replace it. Cocktail Time is now on a leather with blue stitching to match the blue hue of the dial.

These are my three dress / formal watches which are now in rotation, a nice amount of variation in design between the three I feel. The Tissot and Seiko are now pushing 7 years old and are still looking great.

Which straps did you go for from Watchgecko @2StepSteve ?

I've had a couple from Watch Obsession recently - a black Hirsch with quick release which is really nice (now on my Max Bill) and a green Morellato which I'm disappointed with because the leather seems very dry and has cracked quite badly after only a couple of wears.

Is yours under warranty? The guy I spoke to at the service center said they push through warranty claims quicker, although I’m surprised it was back this quick, no mention of parts needed so maybe that contributed to how quick it come back as well.

Oh dear, I went and did it :p

Went into my local Fraser Hart to try it on and they reluctantly agreed to price match, £1570 down from £2260.

Looks great! I really want the Longines moon phase.

Trying not to see it :p To be honest, leaving the number off would have worked better. I love the watch though, about the only automatic chronograph in this price bracket that isn't too thick for my liking. The moon phase version does look great, but more expensive and quite a bit thicker. Skinny wrists are a curse for watch enthusiasts :(

Watchgecko's strap options have always been exceptional. Watchobsession too but Gecko just has more variety and the prices are a bit nicer for high quality straps. I just wish they offered more natural rubber options in two-piece format!

Although I can see myself sticking with these canvas two piece more often now because of the comfort and breathable nature + tool watch aesthetic but still look good under a shirt cuff.

I've never seen one in person but they popped up on INstagram ages ago and regularly see their watches featured there too. Some designs I like whilst others not so much as they seem a bit too colour clashy if that makes sense - Whilst ones like this new one above look really elegant.

Appear to be really good in quality though and the movements are Sellita Elabore grade so you're getting money's worth in most regards I guess. Just wish they did options in 36-38mm.

Also noticed they do some high quality straps, their rubber ones are natural rubber for instance with thick milled buckles and features that most straps don't have like a keeper stay and the buckle end and quick release. Though the £62 price is higher than what even Hirsch charge for their Pure natural rubber so not quite sure how they value their straps.

I do like the junghans, very classy looking watch :)

Thanks! I think it's the absolute understated piece in my collect.

I pretty much only buy from WatchGecko now, very good quality and when sales go on it's very hard to resist.

The Tissot is on: Tillington Vintage Genuine Leather Watch Strap Quick Release Spring Bars, Brown
The Seiko is on: the same as above but in black.

I've left the Max Bill on the stock strap as it just works, and I like it!

I literally have just seen the email to say mine is back from service and is ready for collection! No idea how I missed that. I was emailed last week but just didn't pick up on the email. 3 weeks from dropping off at AD to having it ready for collection. Hopefully, it'll be back with me in the next couple of days. I need to book in an appointment as the AD isn't open for walk ins.
