Looks like a glasses case to me
Has a nice clasp too
The Speedy still hasn't made it into my forever pile which was really unexpected for me as I lusted after it for so long. The King Seiko/Forstner Presidential I put on it made me like it a bit more; I think I need the 2021 Speedy bracelet to be 100% on it. It's a shame they are unobtainium!

I haven't actually looked to see if they can be bought individually, or is it just the exorbitant cost?
Does seem an odd move.
I think it is a mix of Omega not yet entertaining the question and for those that have managed to find a way, they were something ridiculous like £800.

I'm not too au fait with purchasing high end bracelets so couldn't tell you whether £800 is the norm or not tbh! I know that my father's De Ville crocodile strap was something silly like £400 from an AD so £800 for a bracelet wouldn't surprise me!

I had to give them the serial number of my watch before they could get me the price, so who knows if you could just call up and ask. It was an Omega boutique I called.
That isn't insane considering I paid £130ish for the Forstner and it feels like Fisher Price compared to the ones you get with the watches.
Really? That's such a shame as Forstner get such great reviews. Which model number did you get in the end?

That version is the one I'd be buying too for my 'replacement' Speedy, so it's really good to hear your thoughts on that. Definitely one I need to have a feel of before forking out the RRP.Posted a while ago. I love the look, and maybe it is just my inexperience in the 'watch world', but the bracelet feels very unfinished and suspiciously lightweight. The clasp feels very 'cheap'. I would say it feels cheaper than even a Seiko bracelet (using my Beatmaker for comparison). It doesn't make a great noise either; almost like it is made out of slinky metal.
Entirely depends on the proportions of the case as well as the overall diameter. I wore a 44mm Panerai for about 5 years straight and lost some weight, so now the Panerai looks way too big and the cushion style case makes it look bigger than it is. So I've swapped to a new Submariner and the case is so much better proportioned that the old maxi case design that even with the bigger diameter is looks smaller. What do people think about trading bulk for a smaller watch?
I've pretty big wrists at 7.75", and have had 39 mm up to 47 mm watches, and I often find my favorite to wear are at the smaller end where they tend to become unnoticeable.
I'm considering a Steinhart vintage GMT in 39 mm; drilled lugs, would look great on a high quality NATO, but it would defo wear on the smaller side for me (I did have a knock off Tudor BB58 and it was like a jewel, very nearly bought a genuine one but was so torn between the 58 and the regular BB that I've ended up stuck in an infinite do not loop, might take the plunge soon, but my 40th is next month and I know I can't decide by then).
The other I'm considering is the Steinhart 42 mm titanium GMT, and whilst this is a nice watch in it's own right, I don't think the design will age as well as the aforementioned vintage. It's defo not as classy.
Not really sure where I'm going with this tbh, but I might have just convinced myself that the smaller Steinhart will do the job nicely.
I showed absolute restraint in not buying that . Had the page up for about 20 mins umming and arring.Always did like the Rubik cube. Couldn't resist this either, nice wee fun watch
