Grabbed one of these for only £199 off WatchGecko's site, sold as nearly new but was in mint condition, Number 9/75, pretty impressive specs for the price, screw down crown, Sapphire Crystal with AR under coating, the original bracelet has a pretty solid butterfly clasp and screw pins for the links which is good at this price range.

I saw this in the local jewellers window and I love it, so I went to try it on, I had a quick glance at the price tag and saw $11200, and thought, Oh, now i'm torn between the Grand seiko i'm saving up for currently, and this, then took a closer look at the price tag and saw $112000!! I think i'll be waiting a while for that!

Love that Grand Seiko, you probably already knew this but the blue GMT hand is actually blue from a heating process done by hand rather than paint, I find that amazing.

I have one but never use it, just wondered if I should be.
Pretty sure the consensus in most places is for normal watches without any convoluted complications it might cause excess wear and tear or it might actually be better for it than stop starting but no ones made their minds up basically.... personally I just wind mine up if needed, although I do miss the convenience of grab and go compared with my solar powered quartz watches.

The only area where I think a lot of people agree is when you get a watch with complications such as moonphase/perpetual calender etc where it's just a pita to keep setting it and keeping it wound makes life easier.

Mine is just a date so it isn't that hard to change, guess I'll just keep doing what I'm doing then lol.

The bronze has finally started to "age"! Stowa did say depends on the level of moisture it is in contcat with will dictate how the bronze treatment they do keeps the factory finish. My watch gets wet often but still looks "clean" outside of macro shots, but to show the current patina just over 2 years in:

So close to nipping into Fraser hart today and buying a black bay chrono to mark my 50th birthday today. 4.5k is a little too pricey for my blood though, so I bottled it :p

I stared at it lustfully in the window instead :D

Hello all,
Can anyone recommend some decent brands for silicone (rather than rubber) watch straps? I've currently got Barton, Hirsch and Archer on the list but wondering if there's others that are worth looking at.

It's to replace a yellow Fossil silicone strap (this specifically) that's been great for years but, i managed to break the strap retainer a few days ago and Fossil appear to have discontinued the strap now unfortunately :(
