I keep finding it difficult to choose to wear anything other than my Montblanc Timewalker GMT, despite having quite a few other timepieces vying for wrist time, including Omega X-33 Mars, Tag Heuer Carrera chrono, a latest Tag Connected, 1971 Smiths dive style, couple of RAF G10 chrono's...

I was offered a Rolex explorer last Friday and picked it up on Sunday from my local AD...

This is my first Rolex and I have to say, I'm pretty pleased with it.

Explorer is a very underrated and versatile watch. My Explorer II says hello

I still have my first Rolex from 2000.

Yeah you’re right but I think the Explorer II in particular is overlooked. It’s a really nice watch and not many people go for the black dial. Unfortunately just a bit too big for my wrist.

I’m on the list for a Submariner Date but God knows when I’ll get it.

If I was choosing now would get a Submariner (non date), there also a little more easy to get.

I choose the black dial Ex II, unlike the Sub almost no one ever looks at it, and that is a good thing.

The orange 24 hand is pretty cool on them also.

I also own a couple of these early 1980's Tissot PR516, these are quartz, Omega own Tissot, and the movement in these is very similar to some Omega's of the time.

These watches are sometimes known as the 'Tissot F1 Divers', as Tissot sponsored F1 teams at the time.

These watches are 'double water proofed backed', so changing the battery you have to remove two backs, each with it's own seal.

Also the bezel is fitted over a shock adsorbent rubber ring. So if the bezel has an impact, the bezel moves to absorb the knock.
