What watch do you wear?

Love it, and while I agree prices have increased, bezels still don't always line up! :D

Seiko case and bracelet finishing, especially from a comfort standpoint always seems to be standout though in my experience, even the affordable models.

Have no problems at all with the Seiko bracelets even the pressed clasps that people complain about its just the aesthetics on the Sumo one that just doesnt look right to me.

Yep, agree. I think big divers look epic with a rubber strap though..

Also I realise what I said was vague- I meant the Seiko case/bracelet finishing was standout excellent :)

Fell in love with this when i first saw it , end links are still crap on the Sumo though with that weird step that looks like its not made for the case , so put it on a dark blue Crafter Blue.
Although Seiko prices have definitely rocketed over the last couple years , (probably finally paying someone to do QC as everything lines up ) no longer cheap workhorses.
The middle bit of the dial is actually green indoors but blue outdoors.
Love a sumo, still have my sbdc001 that I bought from seiya Japan for about £460ish all in. Not sure I would pay what they want for it now as the 6r15 in mine was a dog. It's running a 4r35 now after I was done over by a very highly praised watch maker. :(

Happy to report my Seiko mod is still ticking along nicely after over a year.

I do love a mod, and that's a nice example! Actually I'm rather a Seiko fanboy generally :)

Has anyone gone from a mechanical watch to smart watch? I really miss wearing a nice simple automatic, but now I'd miss the smart features.
The opposite. Ditched my smart watch and went back to my automatics.

I thought I'd miss the health features and sleep tracking, but instead I realised that having my phone tell me I hadn't slept well, even when I felt fine and refreshed was a real downer.

Your phone does all the smart stuff you need. Can't beat a nice mechanical watch if you ask me :)
A phone does not provide detailed health tracking, so if you are used to having the numerous advantages and positive effects of that data then no... a mechanical watch alone doesn't cut it.

Health wearables are only continuing to get more advanced and with the ability to accurately measure additional key things (in addition to what we currently have) like blood glucose, blood pressure and body temperature they are going to become increasingly important in giving us a proactive overview of our health and fitness.

I love automatic watches, and I can definitely live without having phone notifications on my wrist, but I will never again be without a health wearable on my body.

I just wear both, as sad as that makes me :p I always have my Samsung 40mm S6 on, but if I put my planet ocean on (ie when I'm going to work) then the Samsung goes to my right wrist. Had a few sarcastic comments but I care not!

Absolutely gutted, but my Festina has been returned in its sorry state. The manufacturer no longer has the parts. I was really looking forward to getting it sorted out. Oh well, it wasn't meant to be.

Will have to look into getting myself something new I guess.

Was that straight to Festina or have you tried independents?

I wear my Apple Watch Ultra during the week because I tend to track workouts a lot, and set timers / check notifications, and I even wear it for the sleep tracking, but on the weekends provided I'm not doing something like DIY, I like to wear my Tudor watch. It's a nice change, relegates phone notifications for a couple of days, and makes the watch feel more 'special' to me.

its always been luck of the draw with Seiko, especially in the under £1300 price range.

they put more effort into the £2500+ watches. You are way less likely to see a wonky one of those.

I'm the same! I've always got my pixel watch on for my steps, heart rate etc. and then one of my mechanical watches or my G-Shock to tell the time - turning off the smartwatch display to preserve battery.

At least that's what I tell myself!

I used to have a basic Fitbit and got used to notifications from it, so when I got a full blown smart watch I was already kind of used to it. This is why I only got a 40mm galaxy watch though even though I've got big wrists !

Straight to Festina
I'd try a few indies before giving up; I don't know anything about Festina, but I'd be surprised if the internal parts and even the crystal were truly unique to Festina. It could be that their own service centre just doesn't maintain old watches because it's not worth their time/expertise etc. to do so. I of course could be wrong, but I'd try elsewhere before retiring it.

Any suggestions on where to try?
