What watch do you wear?

£200 isn't too bad for a nice watch.

The problem is I have no idea what parts I need, and that site being in German don't help lol

I'd be happy to help if you want to email in trust, you'll need a few basic tools and things but if you think you would enjoy it I can probably help

It depends how complicated and time consuming it is.

If its like lego then I'm up for it. If it is like £50 in tools, and then a mistake means breaking £100 component then rather pay you for your time and labour :p

Sorry I've got a backlog of people who have asked and I've had to say no, I'm out of the country 80% of time at mo and don't want to let anyone down. It's very satisfying though, I reckon you'd enjoy it, I can certainly help match parts etc.

I've got a few orient watches, one of which is a mako, very realible cheap watch with great build quality. Movement keeps time well with 40 hour reserve and includes day/date.

As mentioned the spring bars are a little weak but I swapped mine for some stronger ones when I fitted a Nato strap.

It's currently my sports watch and I've been wearing it in the pool/sea the last week whilst on holiday without issue.

Depending on your whilst size the Mako XL is also a nice looking diver if you are on a budget.

Oh god I've just come across the Junghans Max Bill Crono...

Now before I do something silly put me off/ find me something similar for half the price ;)

I've no idea how much that costs, so just giving some links with something similar

Movement, dial, hands, case, strap/ bracelet, buckle

Tools prob screwdriver, tweezers, hand setting tool, peg wood, movement holder

Doesn't take long at all but it will take a few hours the first time

You've piqued my interest, where do you get your straps and buckles from as that shop to listed above is quite poor for straps ? Thanks :)

I've got a Blue Mako, and I'd echo the comments already posted. The spring bars are weak and I've had mine replaced. but that's about it for negatives.

It looks great, keeps good time, will run for a couple of days with out being worn, and generally looks and feels like a much more expensive watch.

thanks for the info mate

id liek to buy a monster but as its going to be a daily basher an di waer suits for work i think it maybe a bit overkill

the Orient at £81 is certainly looking like the one im going to buy unless anyone knows of any others?

I feel like treating myself for my birthday this month and I'm looking to spend around £500 on a nice watch. Nothing too dressy as it'd only rarely see any use that way, I'm looking for something I can wear all week for all occasions.

Had my eye on the Christopher Ward C11 Black Manta, but can I get something much better for the price or slightly more? I know watches are a subjective thing but a lot of posters in here know much more than I do.

Skids, I'm well up for this challenge! I was thinking about a ~300-500 every day watch, it would be so much more satisfying knowing I'd made it (if it worked! :P)

I'll drop you an email if that is OK?

Thanks
