If there is a serial number, then on Omegas the number is on the back of the lugs connecting onto the strap, not on the case back, it's very small so it is hard to see.

Bought this a couple of weeks ago.

Think I'm going to flip it and get the titanium version with a leather strap as this is just that bit too heavy.

So Creation Watches no longer have the Orient Mako Diving Sports watch in stock anymore. I've checked and they've got three different versions of the Seiko SKX007 for different prices. The model numbers are SKX007J3 for £181, SKX007J4 for £178 and SKX007K2 for £124. However the SKX007K2 has an ugly bracelet compared to the two more expensive models.

If I wanted an SKX007 with a nice bracelet such as the Super Oyster Type IIa (http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showpost.php?p=22493392&postcount=2658) should I get either the £181 or £178 watch, i.e. do they come with the Super Oyster Type IIa bracelet or should I get the £124 SKX007 and buy the Super Oyster Type IIa bracelet from Ebay? I don't know if the Super Oyster Type IIa bracelet has to be bought separately from the watch and I'm not really sure why the more expensive models I've listed are that much more expensive than the K2 variant of the SKX007.

I'll quote a previous post of mine on this from earlier in the thread. Basically get the cheapest 007 head and the IIa from ebay for the best combo. The K variant is made in Korea, bit of an urban legend that they're not as good as the J(apan) version. They're the same.

I don't think I'd ever recommend buying a Seiko from a Jeweller in the UK. You will pay way over the odds. For instance, last time I bought a SKX007 it was $155 (£95) delivered from a well known dealer, Jake B.

The best option is to get the SKX007 on rubber and buy the improved Super Oyster II from wjean (another well known dealer) on ebay. The Super Oyster is easily the best of its kind.

That's a Kinetic, had one of those as well. Different to the Auto, still a nice watch and it's quite a big lump. Creation watches are a well know and reliable seller in the watch community.

There's a massive Seiko community and the 007/009 is one of the most modded.

I've had this watch for about 4 years now, I've never warn it because I don't like to use them plus it hasn't worked since it came into my possession.

It's a Tokyoflash "Negative"

I want to throw it out but I want to have someone tell me it's the real deal because they're supposed to be quite expensive.

I wouldn't at all be disappointed if it's not, I just wanna get rid of the thing. How can I tell if this is real?

I think the black and silver will be the better choice as it goes with more clothes.

A quick google would suggest they're about a hundred quid. Hardly worth hanging on to as a nest egg.

That's a great looking watch. Looks like it has a pretty decent Citizen movement too. I agree that the silver case will be more versatile. Apparently Barack Obama has one? :D

I used up some United air miles I had which were about to expire and ordered this:

From reviews, the strap is a bit useless so I bought a Nato Bond style strap to go on it. Should make a good everyday "beater" watch! My Raketa 24 is suffering from water ingestion due to everyday use :(

Thanks. Yeah I think it looks cool and classy at the same time. 41mm diameter should suit my wrist nicely I think. I've ordered it - should be here tomorrow.


Obama's version has the Secret service logo :D:
