What watch do you wear?

Seiko 5 came back from repair today. They included a little certificate booklet that had a water resistance chart which I thought was interesting on what they deem usable:

Put the leather strap on it too but I don't think it's as comfortable on this watch as the nylon one that comes with it so will revert back. Looks nicer though :/

I read it on watch site recently but for the life if me can't find the link any more that a modified Orient can be Helium safe, anyone heard about this?

My friend says he can get 40% of any Tag for me, and ive always been tempted for a Monaco, does anyone have one of these? i d like to know about reliability for them, straps etc does they wear fast

reliability should be fine, what I often do with strap watches is take the original strap off and use it on an aftermarket one

The standard monaco is nothing special but at 40% off it should hold a good percentage of it's value

Watch lovers....

Does everybody pay for a specialist to change the battery or is there a good maintenance kit you can get?

Currently two of my watch's need a new battery and for 'some reason' one of them will cost £18 to change, the other is £9.

Just thinking if I could do it myself I could save a lot of money.

Cheers

I go to a little shop on Fleet Street who do repairs for Ernest Jones but far cheaper. With any quality watch, doing it yourself would likely damage the back and you're unlikely to get the same "seal" on the watch that a specialist will get.
