What watch do you wear?

Thinking about changing my Omega Sea-master bracelet to a strap, any ideas and where would I go to have it changed as I don't fancy attempting it myself.

It is honestly not hard to change straps yourself and worth having a tool. If you are buying a strap in a watch shop / jeweler they will do it for you

Are you going OEM or getting one from someone else?

I am about to order from these guys for my master reveil http://www.abpparis.com/

I hear very good things about them

Big problem. Was out with my brother last night who was dragging around some new horridly enormous JLC monstrosity on his wrist and I just couldn't help myself but pop into a local jeweller this morning. And they had one of the below. Secondhand. Mint. About 20% less than I've seen them for previously - presumably due to a new model being out. I've been thinking about a chrono for a while and always fancied a Spitfire. But, played carelessly, this could have serious matrimonial ructions. Please convince me it's not a good idea to go back...

For that sort of money I would rather have an in house movement. Dad has a Portuguese and I like it a lot but the thought of a 7750 ticking away in there is not as exciting as something a bit more rare.

Was helping my dad out with his Tag Aquaracer today adjusting the bracelet links. What a pain in the arse that bracelet is to work with, the links are slightly curved so inserting and removing each pin is some kind of fight. Then in the centre link section is a little tube that falls out and gets lost easily.... For a watch that is in the lower 4 figures this was a bit of a surprise.

Anyway, some suggestions please if you will! My mum would like a watch, black leather strapped but not too large either. I've looked at Seiko and have found this which seems to fit the bill. Any other recommendations would be good!

Where do you guys go to buy replacement watch bands? Ebay? Or is there a better alternative?

I have a Seiko 5 SNK809 and I'd like to replace the strap but it seems like this watch takes an odd sized band, 16.8mm.

Quite often you'll find 3rd party suppliers will sell on Amazon, isn't a problem really but they appear to ship within 1-2 weeks so a bit of a wait!

js58426 depends on what kind of straps you're looking to replace with really, leather?

Oh and lol :D

I was thinking either leather or possibly a stainless steel bracelet.

After a bit of googling it seems that other people are using 18mm leather straps and forcing them into place.

Just found the Tissot PRC200 for a very reasonable 243 GBP on Amazon. It is however sold by a third-party called Links Watches.

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Tissot-PRC2...T17158652/dp/B000L3CHC0/ref=cm_cmu_pg__header

It appears to be the cheapest price available online currently. Links Watches has 25 good reviews.

Would you be worried / concerned buying from them?

£215 on ebay, UK sellers.

Oh wow! Thanks :D

Found it direct on their site for under 200

but I'd rather spend the little extra and get the added protection of paypal / ebay than using a site I've not heard of before :p
