unscrew the crown (if its screw down) then pull it out and set the time

But that doesn't reset the second hand? I get a bit ocd about it being 100% accurate

if it doesnt have a hacking movement the second hand wont stop

Does it have a hacking movement, set it manually to zero then.

Pull the crown at 12 and wait for the actual time to reach 59s and push it in.
