What watch do you wear?

whilst some of that is true. odds on that Armani will last a good few years without having to change the battery. also most of the public will admire as it is a known brand. simples. at the end of the day, it is a watch.

The thing about the battery is that so will lots of others - as has already been noted, Fossil make the Armani one he posted, so he could go for one of those getting exactly the same movement, just saving on the extra for the name. Looks like he's already moved on from it though, and wisely so, in my opinion! Each to their own, of course.

I'd spend my money on a Seiko or even an Accurist over an Armani watch. You are paying £20 for the watch and £180 for the word "Armani" written on it.

This.

My first proper watch after playing around with Armani's, the quality is unreal....

I've got a Tag I bought last year, I hardly ever wear it as I usually wear a Bremont or Omega. I think I wore it twice last year. Should I consider selling it? I like it because it represents a significant part of my life and it's also the first expensive watch I have bought.

Which means what exactly? All watches are created equal?

Why the chuff are you asking us if you should sell a watch that you have an emotional attachment to?

Is that Breitling real? It may be the pictures but it just looks like a cheap knockoff (please no offence to be taken), especially when you look at the writing on the bracelet.

yes, to the average person a watch is a watch and how they are built, movement, what materials are used mean nothing. it is how the watch looks and whether it is a "known" brand that is important to 99% of the population. that is always why i hear friends of mine get compliments for their "brand" name watches, Boss etc.. "oh your watch looks expensive" etc.

meanwhile i with my speedmaster pro fly under the radar :D

No offence taken :p maybe the light it's taken in but it has a high polish to the stainless steal as standard, but yes it is "real".

I don't think the Speedy is that well known to non-watch people really. The Seamaster/PO seems to be the known models.

Indeed - a stealth piece that is just so very cool.

I still think it looks like an Omega though?

Why I like my IWC GST 3707, hardly anyone notices. Even if someone asks what is it, me replying IWC doesn't tend to get much of a response.

It's hard for me to put myself back into the position of not knowing what it is, so I can't really say.

IWC is a very stealth make indeed. The watches that reach into the actual higher end of production watches (I don't mean precious metal Rolex), e.g. IWC, Vacheron, Patek etc. I think most people haven't a clue who/what they are.

Never heard of Vacheron personally; but wow. Pricey though.
