What watch do you wear?

people spend £1k+ on Quartz Tags because they want a slice of the Motorsport partnership going back to the 60's.

Actually. The original brand in the 60's was Heuer. TAG took them over in 1985.

They are Heuers. Not Tags.

My Heuer 2000 from 1984 was still keeping perfect time in 2015 until some scrote nicked it when our house was burgled. 31 years of solid reliability. Not bad for a crappy quartz.

Gents,

I've unfortunately dropped my Seiko SARB065 "cocktail time" and despite minimal cosmetic damage, it now gains like 8 minutes a day so needs looking at :( should I be sending this to Seiko or is there an independent repairer worth considering?

Thanks!

Send me a message on FB, I know a highly rated repairer in Reading who you can send it to.

lol I never said that... I was paraphrasing so I don't have to type a book out each response.

I thought that would have been obvious.

Good luck with you trinkets, I'm done. I've said my piece I really don't care what anyone buys, I know that I laugh inside when someone shows me their quartz Tag or gash Longines.

Wow, you really are an immature and arrogant chap.

Have some decorum.

Well this has caught my eye but seems a tad pricey for a quartz? I'm a bit of a newb when it comes to watches though!

I've always rather liked this one: http://www.watchunique.com/seagull-1963.html

Whilst not making the most of your budget, it's got quite a bit of character to it and I thought you may appreciate the various colours on it, given the image you supplied..

You may also appreciate this 'group buy' type thing that was going on on a watch forum. The video just uses some printed dials to show what choices they have/had (not sure if you can still buy them new, might only be second hand) but the two white faced dials seem to fit your bill:

I have been wearing my gshock most the time, as I ride a lot, so it's safer. I suppose I'm not allowed in here :D

Also, before that my Tudor Oyster Date gets a hell of a lot of wrist time. But it's probably just scrap. ;)

On the Tudor, I've been unable to screw the crown in lately, I'm worried it's a worn out thread, which is (I'm sure) part of the case.

Which watch people should I send it to to get looked at? Recommendations again?

Fanks

On a similar note, if going for the above style the Orient Bambino range should be considered. Very similar spec to that Seiko but at a much lower price.

However with the budget available, for that style I'd probably opt for the Orient Star Classic (WZ0251EL) which can be had for around £400

How big are your wrists? I've been eyeing up one of the Panerai-style Getat watches but was concerned a 44mm might be a bit big on my 6.75" wrists.

Not much into watches, and my only proper watch has been a Citizen Eco-Drive which has a much smaller case.

Not sure how big my wrist is but I guess they are a reasonable size. I have fairly big hands.

I will get a tape measure later and let you know.

I loved the new Omega Planet Oceans launched at Baselworld this year and had an opportunity to check them out at the weekend. I was interested in two of the new 600M Master Co-Axial 43.5mm watches – The steel black & orange and titanium grey & orange versions.

The titanium version is simply amazing so today I ordered it - It will be my new out of office daily :)
I bought it from Swiss Watches Direct saving 17% (£925) off RRP (£5,475)

Model : 215.92.44.21.99.001
Case : Titanium (43.5mm)
Bezel : Ceramic & Orange Rubber with Liquidmetal numbers
Strap : Black rubber with orange stitching
