What watch do you wear?

I loved the new Omega Planet Oceans launched at Baselworld this year and had an opportunity to check them out at the weekend. I was interested in two of the new 600M Master Co-Axial 43.5mm watches – The steel black & orange and titanium grey & orange versions.

The titanium version is simply amazing so today I ordered it - It will be my new out of office daily :)

That looks really nice, congratulations.

Think I will have to phone and ask for someone with a bit of common sense.

Is that Tangod SMP the one that was posted a while back? Or was that a variation of it? The one above, in those photos, looks really nice. Shame they don't do it in 40-42mm. The case sides look polished though, I'm not a fan of polished cases on a dive watch, especially Titanium ones! The lustre of brushed Titanium is something else, polished just takes away that premium look.

The Ti version has a grey sandblasted Ti dial and black hands & Omega logo, which I think looks more premium than the steel black version, below. (It's the other model I was considering)

The Ti case has both polished (top) and satin (sides) finish and looks amazing. This image shows the effect.

Nice :)
I've been wearing that one for nearly 3 years and I still can't stop looking at it. The gloss black wet look dial is gorgeous.

Well thanks for all your suggestions/pointers guys, it was real helpful!

I've taken the plunge and placed an order on this

Whilst not as pricey/fancy as some of the watches doing the rounds on here and setting aside craptakular may be laughing inside, I can't for it to arrive :D got a real good price on it too!

Ok guys I need some more advice please...

The crashing pound means that my spending power is going up day by day, and I would please like some recommendations on a watch that is perhaps a notch or two above the Omega Seamaster 300M Chronograph at £3040.

My requirements are:

-------------------------------

  • Divers watch
  • Chronograph preferred (but not essential for the right watch)
  • Maximum 42mm size
  • Swiss manufacturer
  • Movement customised in-house
  • Minimum 200m, preferably 300m WR.
  • Metal bracelet
  • Budget: £5000 (could stretch a bit extra if it was worth it)

-------------------------------

The exception to the above that I can think of is I do love (lust, may be more accurate) the Omega Speedmaster Moonphase Master Chronograph in 44mm, it is truly a thing of beauty though I'm sure looks pretty huge on my wrist https://www.hodinkee.com/articles/t...r-chronometer-chronograph-for-baselworld-2016

Suggestions on a postcard with a bit of rationale please. :)

If I had that budget again I would still go with a Panerai though it breaks some of your conditions. I freaking LOVE wearing mine and while it's not why I wear it, the attention it gets is very nice.

Why 300m WR?

200M or 300M. Because I love dive watches, and if I buy one it would have to be able to withstand actual diving (which I have done and want to do again). :)

The only Panerai I like the look of is the 1950 3 day 42mm, but the bit covering the crown would dig into my wrist https://www.swissluxury.com/panerai-watches-luminor-1950-3-days-gmt-power-reserve-automatic.htm

Mrs just walks in and was like, have you considered a 2nd hand watch? Look for something around 3k?

I was looking at secondhand anyway, you'll always get a ton more and so that's my sign off for something, and I'm going to jump on it. haha At least before she changes her mind!
