What watch do you wear?

Hey guys need a bit of advice. So Ive had a smart watch for awhile now (Pebble time steel) and what thats taught me is that I love watches, don't care for most of the smart features. So looking for a real watch now, I'm not super sold on the dive watch design, instead want something a bit simple and clean without to much moving, I know I want an actually movement and not a quartz watch.

I found this and I like the design, think it looks solid. Thoughts and suggestions would be welcome, and if you guys have any recommendations of a similar styled watch that would be great.

At this price point, for a simple non diver I think not much beats the Seiko cocktail time sarb065...

Photos of mine.

So i've decided to treat myself to a new watch up to £1,000 looking for some advice from you all. I've seen a few Christopher Ward watches I like the look off, thoughts on this brand? I only like leather straps!

My current watch collection is below..

Tissot PRC 200 Leather black
Rotary Skeleton rose gold
Citizen Red Arrows leather black

I've returned my Breitling Navitimer 01, I found it too big and there was just too much going on (someone pointed this out but I thought I'd be fine with it), I've ended up going for something much cheaper and far more simple and I've managed to get it for £1300 new :) Shall also be purchasing the stainless steel strap for it and maybe a black leather one further down the line.

That's why I love my Bremont Solo so much, just a plain back with date and time only.

I might treat myself to the leather strap over Christmas actually.

Looked at the Bremont U2 as I wanted a blue face, tried both on and preferred the Tag, some of that could be due to not being able to get discount on the Bremont though, wasn't comfortable on the depreciation most watches have and the discount negates that. I wish I could have loved the Breitling as the discount I got on that was thousands :(

So after speaking to my cousin who is also a watch lover, I think I might get a vintage omega, as below.

Vintage watches are normally very small, so watch out if you have big wrists.

You've also got no warranty, and not really any guarantee as to the innards of that watch. You'll be unlikely to have any water resistance of note as well.

Like it! I finally ordered a SKX007 -it's your fault :-)- where do you buy your modding parts? I'm planning to at the very least install a domed saphire on it.

So, I've received parts for my SKX007, and already installed the double domed saphire and the display back: both look awesome. The crystal in particular makes it look almost as good as my Omega!

However I'm disappointed with the rings I got, the printing is not fantastic, and on one of them the lume dot isn't even in the center of the triangle... So a bit disappointed there. Will email the guys at http://www.dagazwatch.com/

The dials I ordered on the other hand definitely look fantastic, I picked an enamel white one that looks awesome. Will take more pics later.
It's VERY nifty to be able to customize the watch like that! Might buy another one just for the heck of it, it's also pretty precise so far, and as reported, the lume is great.

Not the best photo, but...

I absolutely love it, it is a beautifully engineered watch and amazingly light compared to my Longines. The adjustable strap is genius, and it is such a comfortable watch to have on the wrist, you can barely feel it is there. The dial when turned feel and sounds like the click of an industrial maching, not in terms of loudness but just because it feels so damn substantial.

As for the look, while it seems to polarise many people, I think it is stunning, such a deep colour, and considering I wear blue a lot of the time it matches perfectly. Looking at it reminds me of three of my favourite things; snow, blue sky, and the ocean.

The lume is astonishingly nice, the way the whole thing including the dial (and excluding the 3 marker, which does not exist and) lights up is extremely easy to read in the dark.

I also like the ********* hands very much, and the writing at the bottom doesn't bother me in the slightest. The strap will, I'm sure, scratch, but this will be a watch that I will not treat with kid gloves, I am intending for it to be a regular and enjoyable wear even at work, and especially in Summer at the lake with the rubber strap.

All-told, including the VAT refund, I will have got the watch for around 2300 which is a stunning bargain and will essentially pay for the first full service. Very, very happy with it and I highly recommend Watches Of Switzerland to buy from s their customer service was faultless... and they have very good taste in female staff. :)

Another shot from today:

Such a stunning looking watch and matches my style perfectly. I have zero buyers remorse, more akin to buyers euphoria as I know I followed my heart and bought something that I love the look of and that I am going to really, really enjoy. :)

:p Does look nice though.

You will notice that any water splashes (from taps/rain etc) will create a dried water spot on the Titanium and become annoying. I'm wiping mine every day almost because of this. Otherwise, no complaints.

Heh, yup, blue man! I'm psychologically prepared for the more 'delicate' nature of Titanium over it's steel brethren, so will take the scrates and marks that I can't clean off as a sign that I am using a watch as it's meant to be used: without kid gloves. :D

I will say again though that it is just so damn comfortable, partly due to the lightness but also due to what is just one of the best bracelet and clasp designs of any watch on the market, it makes you wonder why everyone doesn't have a model that does something similar with the spring-loading. I went back to my Longines Hydroconquest last night and it just felt so pedestrian in comparison, like all of the life had suddenly been sucked out of my wrist. The Tudor Pelagos is to me, in watch terms, a minimalistically industrial work of art with a deep blue soul that contains some cutting-edge watch design and technology. :)

For those wondering what is so great about it, nice article here on how it won the "best Sports Watch" prize of 2015 Grand Prix d'Horlogerie de Genève http://timeandtidewatches.com/in-depth-the-tudor-pelagos/

Been wanting to change the dome on mine but don't have the courage - how hard was it to do?

Just recieved my new Bulova 96B229 - after throwing a leather strap on it (black) its stunning IMO.

The watch is quartz but the sweeping hand is amazingly smooth. The 262 kHz movement has some history!

For £99 - I'm very surprised.

Only criticism is that its big (for me) - 42mm, if it was 39/40mm it would be perfect and I would probably pay double the price for it.

It's fairly easy to change really with little tools, all available for very cheap on the rainforest. Need a press, a tool to remove the back, some bamboo tweezers, something to clean (I use a small acrylic brush) and a lens blower I already had. Also a little bit of patience but it's very straightforward!

I'm also quite fond of Bulova, but I only got the 'classics'. Apart from the spaceview (see below) I got exactly the same watch in non-spaceview and in SS instead of 18K gold. I wear these a lot!

Oh wow that spaceview is lovely!

Did you follow any videos to replace the sapphire? Cheeky side message - would you be willing to do this for my watch if I sent it to you by any chance? :D

Also, where are the pictures of the modded watch!!!

Well, not sure it's worth sensing it around etc. Do you have the crystal already? Theres' quite a few videos online on how to change crystals, and pretty much anything else. I just watched one and it all made sense pretty quickly!

So heres the modded watch. I put it on a fatass leather band I picked on ebay, since it's a little bit small for me, the band compensates for it. Also a pic of my bigass PO (someone asked a few days ago), and my 'dress' Bulova 214 tunic fork (this one is from 1967, the gold one is from 1964.
