What watch do you wear?

It got unstuck today with the passing of time, and now it does this...

Possible it has an issue before I bought it, or that it was dropped in transit. It was only sent bare in a jiffy bag... I only wore it for a day or two, so if it was doing that, I might not have noticed!

Does anyone know the best place to sell a BLNR GMT and what the general value, it has a small dent on the lug :(

Retail is crazy right now for BLNRs but it is softening with a bit more availability and the retail price going up, but that doesnt always translate into mega trade deals. The dint will be a major problem if its obvious (grade 2>3). I assume its got all boxes, tags and warranty card etc etc. Its probably worth something like 5k-5.5k if you sold it yourself, or tried to offload to a dealer etc.

I've gone off the Tag again and now it's a choice between the blue or black Breitling Superocean Heritage 46:

I'll find something I like eventually :p:o

For someone looking to get a nice looking watch, what would you guys recommend as a starting point? Say £300 for a first watch. Open to suggestions as I know NOTHING about watches

Depends what type of watch you want. Diver? Dressy? Etc etc

If you want a smart looking automatic you can't go wrong with a tissot visodate for that money!

Edit: you used to be able to get a visodate from creation watches for approx £300. I just had a look and can't find them in stock and they seem to be £395 everywhere else

I'm after a smart looking watch yeah, I love watches like the Omega Seamaster and Tag Carrera, things like that but obviously they are slightly out of reach for now :p

How about something from Timefactors Precista or Smith ranges. A smith everest would fit the bill in my view: http://www.timefactors.com/smiths.htm

£245, reliable japanese movement (no bad thing), quality case, good looking to my eyes

I have a Precista PRS 50B and it is one hell of a watch for the money.

Some advice if I may from OcUK's finest watch lovers. I have just sold my old Breitling Superocean 1000m and fancy a one. Am I daft buying it new? I have seen one on for sale second hand for £2k which I can inspect in person before buying which is saving around £1400. OR should a buy new, I intend on keeping the watch for the foreseeable future.

Personally I'd buy used if the condition is satisfactory. Aside from a small few, most watches lose money. So why be the person to take the hit? Let the first owner lose it instead.

I see Steinhart watches posted in here all the time. I must be the only person who doesn't like them! :p

Feels like it anyway :o

I'm all for the Milanese with that timepiece - it's an absolute corker, and suits it better than any other type that I've seen (haven't seen it on a Nato though, and I bet it would suit a tan leather one perfectly).
