What watch do you wear?

Bit of a heads up here, my last watch from creationwatches was delivered 2 months ago almost, and DHL did /all kind of ****/ -- sending customs invoice to the wrong address, wanting VAT and that sort of stuff until eventually I received an invoice for... £44 quid for a value of originally $50 (on the slip).
£8.13 for VAT, £25 'customs services' and £11 'disbursement' -- needless to say, I'm going to argue that one, as I spent more time trying to sort that invoice out than I spent wearing the watch.

It was all over the shop.

Over the past 4 days/nights (not in order of day).

So took it back today for a refund. When quizzed the dealer said they just kinda see if they kinda hold time properly ... idiots.

Now looking at a 2008 GMT II

My pre-ceramic Sub sits around +2.5 seconds per day. I'm not sure you need to worry about a winder if you're regularly wearing it during the day?

Either way, a return/service sounded like the right call.

What did you think of the piece, aside from the time wobble?

I absolutely loved it! My first real watch.

It was blemish free, not a mark on it at all and the year of production was a good memory - but the store I bought from was a disaster from the moment we walked in. Sales person had no knowledge of anything, said everything was covered under warranty - they would remove links there and then etc etc. Senior sales person then voided everything we'd been told.

When I returned it they tried to hard sell me on a sub mariner which was all scratched up saying it had "character" and when I wasnt interested tried to talk me round to keeping the GMT saying "if you want accuracy just buy a quartz watch" - unbelievable!

Hi guys,

I'm considering selling my Oris Williams F1 Team skeleton. Can anyone recommend a site to price check and hopefully sell it? I know there's a forum that has been mentioned on here a few times but I'm guessing you need to have been a community member for a while to sell on there?

Just interested in selling as I no longer wear it after getting my Carrera.

That jeweller's sounds like a complete mess! That being said, worn watches can sometimes be quite desirable if it's the right sort of ageing. But I'm guessing that Sub was a dog.

Thats only the highlights of the experience unfortunately :(

If they had it properly serviced and checked as stated and it was holding at least some kind of accuracy I would have kept the beasty.

After returning the 1999 GMT I opted to put another £700 to the watch fund and bought this instead.

A 2012 GMT Master II Ceramic with box, papers, tags - everything complete. Looks to be mint condition but having it fully authenticated tomorrow for peace of mind and insurance reasons :)

Thanks very much Phate. Bar the Daytona its the one I like the look of most :)

It's funny, my Dad has a Breitling, I have friends with Omegas...both brands are very popular and they both have designs which I love and would love to own...but there is something about the Rolex...if I were to be given either of the first two brands I would be extremely happy. But if I were given a Rolex...I'd be ecstatic :D

#lifegoals :p

Its the one my father used to love but never managed to get. I didnt manage to get a holiday last year and with interest rates so low thought sod it and decided to use the money for this. If I look after it for a few years it will return its value Im sure :)

Omega Watch - Where to buy cheap authentic Omega Watch

Hi,

I am looking to buy a Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean Chronograph, but wondering where would be the cheapest or cheaper place to buy one?
I am from the UK and was wondering if there was a cheaper option here, as I know you can, not barter but a lot of dealers give a % off if you buy it then and there. and who much will they go down to?
And if I go to another country, which country would be cheapest/less tax to pay?
Thanks,
