What watch do you wear?

She is coming...

You know me and lume shots, looks really nice! That must be Super-LumiNova X1 going by the hue and brightness but I imagine some shoppery is involved so likely BGW9. Still great! What's the case size? Given it's ORIS I imagine 44mm without looking it up :p

@mrk ordered the Coniston this morning.

I want to sell one of my Citizen watches and not sure who to use?

Does that make it 3 people in this thread now who have got one in the space of a week?!

Thanks. I went for the blue with red underside for something different.

Look forward to seeing pics when installed

£6K is a lot for a brand that depreciates like Oris.

Still, you can't buy everything based on what you might get back for it, so I hope you enjoy it while you have it.

Was pleasantly surprised by its lume setup indeed, especially for a skeleton design. Feedback I found from owners online was also positive on that specific point.

Oh and yes, you guessed correctly, it is 44mm which is really not an issue for me as I'm a big guy (1m90 / 100kg) :D

I actually really like its reasonable thickness by today standards, 12.5mm.

I have already joined a few months ago, I was tempted to get one for my Birthday back in April but got the Steinhart Ceramic Green.

Saw your posts come up on my time line.:D:cool:

I've never bought any of my watches based on their resale value. Watches are a personal pleasure for me, not an "investment strategy" :)

Ahh that makes sense now, it might actually have been you who mentioned the group to me? I totally forgot as lots have been going on in the last few weeks :D

That's fair, and 12.5mm for a 44mm is really thin which is rather cool. Looking forward to seeing pics of that when it is in hand too.

It was time for a change of scenery, the Ahoi Atlantik was really nice and the movement finished in pretty awesome German style, I can just imagine what it would have looked like on one of these Barton straps too
I did get slightly annoyed and bored of some things on it which I've mentioned before.
The smudges/water marks on the crystal showing up under any light source bouncing off it due to the heavily layered outside AR coating needed regular wiping because if left to settle you have had to really apply some elbow grease to get the marks shifted.
The lume wasn't great, this is the downside to dark lume pips on a dial, never bright nor long lasting.
A bigger crown would have also been nicer to both look at and grip as I didn't wear it every day so would hand wind it throughout the week.

I think too much lume or thick indices would have spoilt the watch, but agreed on the AR coating. My Omega has a small mark on it, and my Sinn 556i needs a wipe with a lens cloth every few days. The trade off is that increase in legibility and you get to appreciate the dial without reflections.

Been wearing it around the house, seems a shame to keep it boxed up.

I've been eyeing up a 356 Pilot, I've saved a lot of money over the lockdown period but I can't quite justify it to myself.

Grade X1 does not change the colour of lume, its an additive to allow the lume to glow brighter and retain its maximum brightness for longer.

Lol. They are just too nice aren't they? Did I need yet another watch? Nope. :D
I (tried to) tell myself I didn't need anymore at the start of the year. Then lockdown and now in furlough limbo, so I've barely left the house apart from cycling (when I wear my Suunto GPS watch), so not been wearing a watch much for the last couple months. They're all tucked away and not being cycled, so I really don't need another atm... lol...
