As above what would you get for about 2k, its not the max but ideally what id like to spend, been looking at some older mondeo 2.5v6's etc, want something thats comfy, spacious and has some kit.

Just wondering if anyone has bought something recently for that kind of amount and what they got :) Im bouncing off walls atm looking :p

lol, your in Primera SE, SRi, GT, Sport and Sport+ terretory there. if your after kit, decent speed and reliability anyway:)
actually had thought about a primera GT, guess there solid and reliable enough and less common

If I had a £2k budget again I'd get another Mk2 Mondeo Ghia X with RSAP kit. Can't think of anything I'd rather have for the money. Provided you get a kitted one it still looks decent.

is that similar to the ST24 version?

It looks identical, the 2.5 has exactly the same engine, its also available as a 2.0 16v and it has a much higher level of equipment (full leather, heated electric seats, cruise, onboard computer, climate control on V reg onwards etc etc).

the ghia x was the ideal candidate, the 2.0 litre would probably do aswell tbh

not much between the primera sport+ and the Ghia X tbh so id say it depends whether you want a revvy 2.0 or a more torquey 2.5v6.

Big problem with the Primera though, and the reason why its such an unsung hero, is that it looks so horribly bland. With the Mondeo, the bodykit actually makes it look half decent.

Does Sport+ have the kit a Ghia X does then? I didnt think it did?

And whilst he's trying to find one he could also look for my needle that I lost in a haystack ;)

Can't argue with the suggestion but they are pretty hard to find. Sourcing the kit seperately, in the right colour would be a royal PITA.

hmm thats very subjective however, and whilst to some people a mondeo may appear bland so might a primera...

i think the sport+ has similar kit, if not the SE will (heated leather). the Sport+ does have Xenons i believe too.

Watch out for dodgy MAF's though as the P11-144 use a film based MAF which can be expensive to replace if it bonks.

I'd be tempted to buy another Omega. You could have a late, immaculate pre-facelift Elite/MV6 for your budget.

Exactly the same budget as what I'm looking at at the moment (Sold the ST170 as I needed the cash for my business)

I'm looking at mondeos again having had one previously (albeit the god-awful diesel!) Ghia X with RSAP kit is like rocking horse poo! But I'm looking at ST24's Ghia X's etc.

Did think of an omega but don't like the saloons so it'd have to be a HUGE estate! Didn't see many in budget though - granted my search was fairly local.

What about a Rover Coupe Turbo?
Crap idea, it does none of these, or nowhere near as good as the competition.

comfy, spacious and has some kit.

Its not really comfy, springs are too hard and your arse goes dead on a long trip.

Its not spacious, only 2 in the back and the boot is poor.

Kit is average, few have AC (if it still works) but no electrical seats or heated seats.

A suggestion here for something slightly different, Alfa 166.

Big, comfy, well equiped. Most have Leather, Sat Nav, 6 Speed computer etc, etc.

2k not a problem if you haggle hard.

Cheap to buy but expensive to run.

A case of not reading the OP properly I think - sorry! :o
