What's an emo?

Chubby people can't be emo's because they're not anorexic. Therefore, they're scene kids because they're wannabes.

Are you listening at the back Neon? Stop sniggering Mic.

I think the most "depressed" music that I ever got into was when Nirvana released their nevermind album. I never really do "depressed" - life's too short and I tend to live it on the up. :)
I liked that album, but god damn emos had to latch onto it as their holy grail

There are some strange people in this world...

Everyone's strange in someone elses eyes though.

I'm sure some people can't understand the thrill you get out of throwing yourself out of a plane or the enjoyment football hooligans get out of causing trouble at matches but to you and them it's just how you are.

True - however the majority of people don't tend to resent being alive ;)

And people think this is cool and look up and want to be like this?
Only gullible 12 year olds recruited to their evil ways. Its kinda like scientology, but without the backing of multimillionares and tom cruise.

im not a scene kid, i like scene kids a lot... i like anyone who dressed how they want and dont care what people think, its quite funny watching you lot say blah blah blah scene kids and emos, are ghey etc etc.

they wouldnt actually care what the heck you thought...

i respect all emos, scene kids, goths, alternative, metallers, punk rockers, indie etc etc, most down to earth people i have met.

Oh deary me. They all say "No one understands me" etc and they all say "I don't care what people think". If the later statement is so true, then why do they go to such lengths to all look the same and to fit in?

They all declare that they're non conformists, but in reality they're more conformist than the majority user-base on this forum.

They're just hypocrites. I hate hypocrites with a passion.

dude, im not listening because your just assuming thats what there like, and there not. i hang around these people most of the time im out, im always out at alternative pubs clubs etc, and all of them are lovely people, your just making yourself look silly by making out you know them, or know what there like.

they dont do it to fit in, why do i go out with my jeans below my rear, and wear skate trainers, hoodies, sweat bands etc not to fit in but i like the way it looks, and im comofoftable dressing that way.

Neither do you apparently. You have respect for them dressing how they want and not caring what other people think? Welcome to individuality my friend. Every "townie" or "chav" in the land thinks the same thing. If they want to leave the house in a full white Adidas tracksuit with cheap gold jewellery then they will, and they do. Emo/rock/scene kiddies are no different, you don't see any individual ones, they look as generic and boring as all the others around them.

I used to be a goth in my teens when Manson first became big after Antichrist was released, but I soon realised that you don't actually have to dress a certain way dictated by what music you listen to or what your other teeny friends are wearing, and when you're a bit older you'll understand that.

Maybe you should look outside the box on this one Neon. I've been there, I know what i'm talking about.

Mohinder will testify this on my behalf - SEEVIC college = full of emos. Actually, look on myspace for SEEVIC. The Alex the pub is full of Alt. people where I live, and ofcourse draws in the emo / scene kiddie populace. I think the worst age group of emo's atm is 15-17, so by my count we have about 2 years left before we're totally invaded on nights out.

Ultimate question about hittage:
Emo or Goth? That'll spark WW3 that would! :p
Don't answer it!

My mate is Emo, he doesn't mess with the makeup malarky, just the long femanin hair :p

neither do i eh? right cool, i use to date an emo, lasted some time aswell, im very out there on the alternative scene, its the only people i hang about with and yes when i was growing up i went through a goth phase, and now i dress metal, and no its not a phase, and no i dont do it to blend in, and ive been like it for years its because of my background and giggin and band history, so it will always be in my blood.

it was only last night i was in the biggest and most POPULAR alternative venue in the whole of england, and i could chat to anyone no one was being a prat no one was fighting everyone was enjoyin them selves and i was surrounded by emos. no one had attitude problems.

we could chat and have a laugh no depressing subjects no "i hate the world" crap. it was a very good night shame i dont remember the rest of it.
